    Bean Sprouts a no no...?

I read somewhere that eating bean sprouts (cooked or raw) is a no no in pregnancy. Is this correct? If yes, Why?

Ubba, I haven't heard that one specifically but all I would be able to think of would be if it was fresh and not washed and therefore a listeria risk??

I would think it has to so with them being washed properly before eating. Like the pre made salads and stuff. I've had a few festy smelling batches of them in the past too.

    Hi Ubba

I was shocked to find out bean sprouts are a no-no too. It's in both my pregnancy books and it's because they're high risk of listeria. They say even cooked (or heated through) is a no-no too. Best to steer clear if you ask me.
