    Talking Beanie Baby - UPDATE

    Howdy All,

Just wanted to post an update here aside from one in my due date group.

We had our 12 week NT ultrasound yesterday. I decided to bring my MIL along to see first hand the technology they use today and just how amazing it all is. Another reason was to show her that it is easier to get "attached" to your baby when you see them like this after she made some comments last year that I should never had found out what sex NIkita was so I didn't bond too much.

Admittedly I don't buy the excuse that she is a hardened older country woman, therefore I shouldn't pay her comments any mind it still cut to the quick.

It did take her a while to see what everything was, I guess because I had seen these type images with NIkita I knew what I was looking for. I excitedly pointed out the heartbeat, its little hands and feet moving around like crazy, she was gobsmacked, though it didn't stop her from making a comment that we needed to work out a way to keep me calm. I said that I was resting as much as possible but she meant that I was getting too excited over this baby ... uh hello this is MY BABY I will get as excited as I damn well want.

So anyway I got to see bub, the results were good from my NT scan with just the bloods I was 1-300 so high risk but when combined with the scan it showed 1-600 which is low risk. We checked my cervix and it was long and closed so that was good. I asked Dr Shekleton how frequently I would need to see him and he just said that was up to my Ob but he was very happy with how everything looked. They even did a DVD of the scan I have watched it 3 times so far.

Then I headed back to Warragul to my Ob David and told him about the appointment and he laughed when I told him what Dr Shekleton said about my visit frequency. He said that he was relieved Dr S had said that it meant he wasn't worried about my cervix. We are going to organise weekly or fortnightly scans in Berwick from 15 weeks so I am happy with that.

Back to Beanie - I was trying so hard to see if I could pick bubs sex. I do have a feeling but I won't share it at this stage. Honestly there were moments I thought "for sure its a girl" but then occasionally I thought I saw little boy bits too. Bub was super active so it was a bit difficult to even get certain measurements.

I will post a poll in the guess what baby is section as I will see if I can find out at the next scan or the one after. I am having the 20 week scan early at 18 /19weeks so that is only six weeks away.

I will try to pull some images off the DVD and post them and see what you all think.

Yesterday made my day, I have been feeling so sad with MOthers day coming up yesterday really lifted my spirit so much. This little Beanie is so treasured and loved so dearly he/she is already my little light.

Oh babe, I am so super excited for you!!!!

Bah to MIL. I was sooo attatched to Harmony's twin, and I didn't see Bubbles till she/he was actually leaving, it doesn't change a thing. Bub was still extremely loved and missed anyway.

Of course people want to look out for you, But its immpossible to not be excited over your BABY!!!!
