Question Blocked Ears - Symptom of Pregnancy?

    Hey Everyone
Just wondering if having blocked ears is a symptom of pregancy. And if it is, why it happens? I keep forgetting to ask my ob!
I recall having them in my first pregnancy (but had forgotten until now). I'm pregnant with my second baby and am getting them everyday now...started about at about 12 weeks.

    Thanks!

It is not a symptom at all as far as I am aware. Maybe you have a slight ear inection.

I haven't heard of it either however, your sinuses can be affected with pregnancy and therefore your ears may play up too. Every woman is different so it may be your personal side effect

I had it with pregnancy 1, but not with this one as yet. Never found a reason for it, but once bub was born it went...
Be interesting if your ob has an idea of why

I've gotten blocked ears a few times and another preg friend told me it is a symptom and she gets it all the time.
My guess at an explanation is that we retain more fluid- some people get swollen ankles, others get swollen hands, I guess the ear canals are just a bit swollen or have more mucus like our noses and sinuses do, and so they get blocked more easily.

any one have any tips for unblocking them?

I had them in my 2nd Trimester during the day. Was very frustrating as I worked in a kiosk in a shopping centre and felt like I was yelling at all my customers!
It did just seem to resolve itself though. I just kinda put up with it, I probably should of got some ear cleaner or something lol
