DD loves 'There's a house inside my Mummy'
I had a quick look in BB store and hello baby looks good but more about homebirth, which at this point is uncertain.
What books have you used to convey pregnancy, growing babies, new babies and siblings to your little ones?
We aren't announcing yet, and would like to 'tell' DS first! He will be 3.5y when baby comes!
DD loves 'There's a house inside my Mummy'
I just posted in a thread about this recently. There are a few good suggestions in it worth checking out.
And this one from last year
Oh, and congratulations!!
I really loved reading to DD1 and talking about the baby coming. It is such a lovely way to gently bring them in to the concept of a sibling.
Thanks heaven and jackrose I did a quick search but on my phone its a bit hard.
I agree, The house inside Mummy is awesome...
DD1 was about same age when DD2 came along![]()
DS is 3 and a half and loving "There is a house inside my mummy' too! It is cute with a rhyming text and quite easy to make subtle changes as you read it. We read it as "I cannot wait to meet them" etc instead of him/her because we are having twins. DS loves the story and he actually understands it really well. His fav bit is the picture of the mummy asleep on the couch - "Look, it's you Mum!"![]()
Not a fan of "there is a house inside mummy's tummy", myself..
mind you I have yet to find s really good one, and I have been looking since I fell pregnant with baby number 2. We ended up getting 'where did i come from?' and just sort of 'self-edit' when we read it to the kids. I have found most of the books geared towards toddlers and young kids doesn't really explain anything, while books like 'where did I come from?' explain too much.
Don't forget to check your local library. Brisbane libraries have it, saves you the money!
