DD in u/s with me...good idea?

I have my morphology scan this afternoon and i've thought about taking DD in with me to watch. She loves watching babies on tv and knows there's a baby in my belly. So i thought she would appreciate seeing bub for real.

She is nearly 4, so do you think this is a good idea? It won't freak her out or anything? Has anyone else had their older child in with them and how did they react?

I think it sounds like a good idea. I havent been in your position but if shes interested in the baby then she'd probably love seeing it. Perhaps show her some ultrasound pics (not necessarily of your bump) first to show her that bubs looks different when inside you tummy as to when outside of tummy. KWIM?

    Good luck with it

Hi. I had the girls with me at my morphology scan. I actually picked the oldest up from school as I really wanted her there. She was 5, so a bit older, but she loved it.
She was there to hear them say we were finally having the boy we all wanted.
I;m so glad I had her there.
DD2 was only 2, & I had DH there to try to deal with her, as I don't think it interested her as much. She still had a good look though.
Morph scan does take a while, & she might be fascinated the whole time, but it might be a good idea to take some books or colouring in or something for her.

I wish I could of taken my kids in to see bubba....

They have a "strictly NO children" policy at both our u/s centres here. We had to take Kane with us, and since DH had to have him, they only let DH in for a quick minute. I had the rest of the scan (45min) on my own.

Check before you go in, if they are very strict, they just wont let her in.

But if your allowed to, I'd definatly take her!!!

Zander went to all of my appointments & ultrasounds. He got a bit bored with it all, so make sure you have a book or a toy for her to play with JIC.

Check on what the rules are at the place you are getting the scan done. Some only allow one other person in the room. Some allow children over 5, some don't allow kids at all. It does take a while though and could be quite distracting for you and your partner.

DD has come to all u/s and antenatal clinics with me (she had to as i was on my own as DH was at work).
She is a little younger obviously but she was fine.

SHe didnt like the lights being turned off and gets up set with the Blood pressure cuffs but the scan and dopplers she was fine with!
