    Bra purchasing

    Hi there,

I've been avoiding buying a bigger bra because I don't know how much bigger I will grow and if I should be a regular bra at this point or go for one of the maternity ones.

I'm 20 weeks and have gone up a size and still squishing into my normal ones.

What do you think? Do you grow much more after 20 weeks or when you start to get milk?

My boobs kept growing until my ds was 6 months old - I went form a b/c to a dd/e. We have just weaned and I'm back down to the d's I wore when I was pregnant - not sure if they will get smaller again as I am pregnant again too. I think its worth having comfy bra's - perhaps buy just a couple and allow for some extra room to grow?

I think it is about what you feel comfortable in. I had a fitting person tell me at 13wks that I must no longer wear underwire or I'll damage my boobs and won't be able to b/feed. I however was insistant on wearing maternity bra's. I felt awful not having the underwire support. I would just purchase a black and a skin tone bra and literally wash and wear until I needed a new size. Everybody is different but I went from a 10D to 12E by time I was 8 months pregnant up to a 12F with milk and now I'm back to a 10E but shrinking as I begin to feed less (dd is 14 months). It is important that your bra fits right if especially if wearing underwire.

    All the best.

You will likely keep growing while pregnant, and will definitely get bigger when your milk comes in. You can't keep squeezing into your old bras though. From 20 weeks you really should be ditching underwires. Maternity bras are designed to grow with you so you will find you can go up a size without it mattering as much as in normal bras. I still wore the E cup bras I bought at 20 weeks while I was a G cup after my milk came in. I bought new ones after they got smaller again cause the first lot were stretched, but I got a good 6 months out of them.

I got a new bra. I went to bras n things, she fitted me with a bra that fits now. It had to fit my fist in it too, if that makes sense. So, it fits now, and it'll fit when the milk comes in, if that makes sense.

Not sure what side of Melbourne you live, but Bendon at DFO Essendon has every bra for $20 sale this weekend. That's where i get all my maternity/bfeeding bras whenever they have a sale. Elle Macpherson and heaps of other good brands.

    I went from a 10A pre pregnancy to a 10C by 12 weeks. A massive change!!
I've been having trouble getting a 10C maternity bra, so I've been wearing a 12C and it has to be the most supportive comfortable bra ever!
I've gotten my bras from Kmart. They seem really good, one is a bub2b and one is Triumph maternity.
I've been wearing maternity bras since about 17 weeks and haven't looked back!!
