Yoghurt?
Sour cream?
Cottage cheese?
Cream cheese?
Mayoniase from the supermarket? Do they all have whole eggs in them?
Pavlova?
Ham on a pizza or toasted sandwich?
Burger with lettuce/ salad on it from Maccas or red rooster?
Yoghurt - yes (great source of calcium and good for heartburn and thrush!!!)
Cream Cheese - yes, I read somewhere the yes and no cheeses and cream was a yes. I wanted to make a cheesecake so wanted to make sure I would be ok about ricotta, cream cheese and marscapone so I hope it was ok LOL
Cottage Cheese - I may seem a litle ignorant but is it in water?? If it is then its a no
Sour Cream - good question
Pavlova - I argued about this with my chef friend - she says yes because it is cooked egg, I said no coz the cooked part is only on the outside so it will be interesting to see what others say.
Ham on Pizza is cooked as long as it is cooked very well go for it.
Not to sure about the rest so Ill let someone else answer for you.
People have differing opinions on some of these so this is my take!
Yoghurt? It's fine!
Sour cream? Pasteurised so it's fine.
Cottage cheese? I never eat it but I'm pretty sure it is pasteurised too
Cream cheese? Fine!
Mayoniase from the supermarket? Do they all have whole eggs in them? If you get whole egg mayo then no, but if it is just your basic Kraft mayo then yes, because it is heat treated... I eat it, others avoid it if they haven't just opened the jar and eaten within 12hours. I think as long as its not the good stuff then its fine to have a little on your sandwich etc
Pavlova? MMmmmmm not sure about this one but if it has any raw egg then no, I thought it was pretty well cooked?
Ham on a pizza or toasted sandwich? Steaming hot is fine.
Burger with lettuce/ salad on it from Maccas or red rooster? Mmmm I don't get burgers with lettuce so Im not sure but there could be a slight risk as the lettuc probably sits there for a while before they make it... maybe ask for no lettuce??
The things you need to look at with dairy is: is it pasturised? So no SOFT chesses, no French chesses, goat, brie, etc.
The whole eggmayo will be labelled as such, the normal (Praise, Kraft, ec) Mayo is not egg mayonaise.
Make sure your salad is washed, and try not to eat fresh ham, salami, etc, ESPECIALLY salamis, because of the way they are nade and what they are made from. Its pretty gross actually! lol And they are huge risk of infection.
