    Red face "No gender" disappointment

We had our big 19 week ultrasound yesterday, and I am thankful and thrilled to report that all looks great with baby. Growing beautifully and looking healthy - what a blessing! But I was REALLY looking forward to finding out what this little one is, and unfortunately, we have another exceptionally modest baby! The little one crossed his/her legs every time the technician came close with the ultrasound probe thing! AAAHHHHH!!!! I think the technician was trying to hint that since it was so hard to see, and she couldn't tell for sure, that it is probably a girl, but she really couldn't say. How am I going to pick names now! DH was a little disappointed too, but he just said, well, we'll find out eventually. True, of course, but I wanted to know NOW!! (Where's the "pout" icon?) Oh well, I guess we'll just have to keep up the search for girl and boy names, and worry about pink or blue clothing after the baby arrives.

Aww sweetie how upsetting!! Are you going to request another scan at all? Have you thought of getting a 4D scan etc maybe they could tell you for sure?

Hello, I know exactly how you feel, DD #1 was very modest in utero too. However, we ended up going back for another scan at 34 weeks (she had stopped kicking noticeably for a couple of days) and that's when we found out. So it's possible you might get another opportunity later on! Either way, I started having very strong girl baby dreams so I kind of knew by then.

    What a little rascal

Maybe you can save up for a few weeks and get a 3D scan. I honestly don't think the bubs can hide what they've got during one of those, besides you'll also have some brilliant pics!

What a bummer Cricket! Ditto to what the other ladies were saying though, either wait til the next scan, get another scan sooner, get a 3D one, or simply wait until he/she pops out! Have you tried the old ring test and other online tests? heh heh, I don't really think they work, but others swear by them...

    Good luck!

Unless something goes wrong, this will be the only "free" ultrasound I get. I didn't think that DH would be interested in paying for one at all, but I mentioned the 3D ultrasound idea to him the other day, and he said that if they're not too expensive, we could maybe do that. I would LOVE that! But I'm having trouble finding a location close to us. I've heard they do them in London, about 45 minutes away, but I can't find out where, exactly. Here's hoping we can find something good!

    hiya Cricket,
I have only found out with 1 of my 5 little ones and when I did find out, it was OH SO OBVIOUS he was a HE lol. I think sometimes if it is not so noticeable, then maybe bubs is a girl, but they do have a good way of hiding things they dont want you to see lol
All the best, and I hope you do get to see what ur having if that is what you want.
I personally dont really care what I have, but as usual, DP wants a boy as this is his first bub lol.
Good luck with the rest of your PG
