I had one - but in 'what to expect when you're expecting' they say they are 'VERY rare'. There aren't necessarily any 'signs' (i had no idea - but then, i wasn't even aware you could miscarry without bleeding) but i think as long as you continue to have pregnancy symptoms you can be reassured by that. that said, though, pregnancy symptoms - nausea, sore breasts etc - can disappear now and then and one shouldn't read too much into it.

Having had a missed m/c I've found it hard not to worry about having another this time round. I think if you're going to miscarry the kind where you have bleeding and cramping is more common, so if you're feeling fine, try not to worry too much - or ask your practitioner about it so they can check everything's OK and reassure you.

Kayangel - I had a missed m/c last year.. It was an oopsie pg and took some getting used to. Just as we got over the shock I began to get the feeling that something wasnt right and I couln't get excited. I was 15wks, had a very big belly but just didn't feel right. I went to the dr and he looked at me a little oddly when I said that something felt amiss and could I get straight in for a scan. He had tried listening for a heartbeat but couldn't find one. To my horror at the scan, I was told that my little one had passed over a week before.. I had no bleeding or pain at all.. There was absolutely no explanation for what happened to us and I, like yourself hadn't heard of anything like that occurring.

Hi Kayangel. My doctor told me that with your first pregnancy there is a 30% chance of miscarry.

Unfortunately miscarriages in general are pretty common, as too many gorgeous ladies on here are aware . I had a missed m/c last year, my first sign was slight spotting - thats it. I was 12 weeks but my angel was only 7 weeks and they couldnt find a heartbeat. The cramping and bleeding came about 2 days later.

I had a missed m/c last year. I was 10 weeks and I started getting period like cramps, i went to the dr the next day and he thought I had a bit of gastro. Anyway he sent me for a scan and I found out that the baby had died at 7 weeks. I had no other symptoms, and to this day am not really sure the cramping was to do with the miscarriage, or just an upset stomach. They are pretty hard to deal with, but don't let the thought worry you with your pregnancy. You can't control it. Good luck

I had one this year with absolutely no sign. In fact I was still having very strong pregnancy symptoms. We found out when we went for our 12 week scan - we could see straight away it wasn't right, and the ultrasound tech confirmed that the baby had died a few weeks previously. I was 12 weeks 3 days and the baby had died at about 7-8 weeks, but my body had continued to support it - uterus and everything else was the right size for dates. Even by the time I had my d & c 2 days later I still felt pg and had no sign of anything being wrong.

I think it is pretty rare for it to happen like that though - I know someone else who it happened to and she had some spotting before the scan.
