Take two: telling DSD they're going to have a new brother/sister

Concern as to telling them as their mother is very spiteful and bitter. Any anger she has for myself and DH is taken out on children. Anyone else had same issue, how to deal. ANY advice appreciated.

I would wait until the pregnancy was well on it way and just start dropping hints about babies and would she like a brother or sister ect.
My DSD was 7 when we told her she was going to be a big sister she is an only child and was sooooo excited her mother on the other hand was a cow and caused us nothing but grief but i wish i had waited as we lost Abbi at almost 20 weeks and poor DSD was so heartbroken she had to go to counciling and it took her a while to get over it so with this bub we did not tell her until 20 weeks when we had all the cvs and amnio results but we did drop hints and mentioned a few things to get her use to the idea and prepare her so this time she is calm and excited.

P.S her mother is still a cow.

I just wish their mother wouldnt take it out on the girls. Take it out on ppl who can take you on. We try to stand up for them, but its hard when they're with her 4 days a week.
