Thanks for updating Talia. It sounds so stressful, but such wonderful news.

Can I ask how you got the referral to Dr Sheckleton? I understand you primary carer is a private midwife? I would prefer a IM/homebirth as well and was wondering how you get the scans/tests etc organised.

    TIA

Sure! I also have been seeing Dr Peter Lucas, a GP. He has provided me with referrals etc., and is very supportive of HB.

BUT i also received some very good advice recently from a woman in Sydney! She said, just go to one of those big mega-clinics, where no one cares who you are, and say that you need a referral for a scan, make up some story about your 'regular doctor' being away on holidays and you lost your referral... If they aren't cooperative, refuse to pay the bill, and try again somewhere else!

But I think that would work well! Those clinics are just 'get in, get out' so I imagine they would be happy to write a referral.

Talia, I just wanted to thank you for posting your thought processes and experience with your CVS. I'm planning to do CVS also, most likely at 11 weeks, for the same reasons you described. Reading about someone who's gone through the same emotions and anxieties I'm feeling right now has really eased my mind.

    So ... thanks again.
