How many 'weeks' am I? Please help me calm down!

Ok so a little back story... I'm 25, we've been trying for 8 months, we have an increased risk of miscarriage due to my chromosomal abnormality (Robertsonian translocation 13 and 14).

With many tears of joy, I finally got a faint positive line on the stick on Saturday! Again on Sunday! And I am tiiiiiired as anything, and a little ill feeling.

BUT! I am now so, so scared of miscarrying... And I want to research the risk percentages by week so that I know when I can start to relax!

The date of Day One of my LMP was the 14th August, which is 5 1/2 weeks ago from today. So, am I considered 5 1/2 weeks pregnant? Or less?

So sorry for such a mundane question, but to be honest I am kind of FREAKING OUT.

Yep, you would only be 5 1.2 wks pg. I hope that you pg is a happy and healthy one

No experience here but im pretty sure its measured from the date of your last period. Not the missed one? So if you had your period on the (total example) 28th of August and youre due on the 28th September for your next and you miss it, im pretty sure you start counting from the 28th August.

Check with your doc tho good luck!

Arghhhhs scary and exciting! Hubby refuses to celebrate at all this early (he is so, so scared ) this early, but I think I'm going to go off to the doctor this week anyway.

Ok so from the above few replies, I believe I am considered 5 1/2 weeks! Wow! That seems so far, considering I am only a week past my missed period!

Ok that makes me feel miles better already! Because all the books say that the risk of miscarriage is highest in the fitst 6 weeks. So I'll feel heaps better in another week again!

I suppose I should go to the doctor! I am too scared of 'jinxing' myself

I just calculated it out for you hun, you are 5 weeks 3 days pregnant & bub will be due on May 21st 2010
