Did your labours get quicker with each baby ?

    Hello,

I am currently expecting bub #3 and have been told that subsequent labours get quicker, from my experince this was the case for me - my first labour was 21hrs and my second was 1hr 44mins. I know this is not to say this birth will be as quick my last ...i guess i will just have to wait and see.

Would be great to hear how long your labours were and if they did get quicker each time . I'm starting to think i might have to camp at the hospital a week before hand, lol.

I've only had one so can't comment from personal experience but my mother had a 6 hour labour, then a 2 hour one, then a 3 hour one (induced though)

Well...I'm slightly out of the ordinary...
    DD1 - 18.5 hours
DD2 - 30 hours (she was posterior & had to turn, which she did during labour. I think thats what slowed it down)
    DS - 5 hours

My mum was 18 hours, 9 hours & 2.5 hours It is more common I think, to get quicker, but it doesn't always happen.

Mine were 12, 8, 4.5 and 6 but I wouldn't count the 3rd one as it was induced.

My labours got quicker- 1st was 5 hrs, 2nd was 2 hrs, third was 56 mins. My 2nd was the worst, it progressed so quickly and was more painful but at least it only lasted 2 hrs. The 3rd was the easiest, it was actually pleasant....as far as labour goes.
