    Dizziness

    Hi!
I have been feeling quite dizzy this week. I do have low blood pressure, but this dizziness seems to be more associated with headaches. I had a migraine although it was not the worst I've had, which was lucky as I had my two kids with me, but it doesn't seem to have totally gone. Just wondering if anyone else has had this in pregnancy?
Im seeing my Ob today, so will ask him, but just wanted to know if this was "normal". I know for sure migraine's are, but the dizziness is a bit weird.
    Thanks xo

    Hey webbmeg!

I've been feeling quite dizzy at times too. I'm not sure what it means - I'd be interested to hear what your Obs says!

Yep I had it at around 20 weeks too...my OB said it is normal and to lie down if I got dizzy. It eventually went away in about 2 weeks.

    Hope you feel better soon!

P.s I had low blood pressure, low iron and I suffer migraines.

Hi, this pregnancy and last I got heaps headaches in my 2nd trimester and occasional migraines, they are horrible. And the migraines can bring on the dizziness, blurred vision etc.
I also get dizziness constantly, considering my BP rarely gets above 90/55 when preg its not surprising.

    Hi.
I only suffer migraines while I'm pg.
I had dizziness & it was due to low iron. I had to take supplements.
Talk to your doc & go from there.
    Good luck.

Yeah Im actually having alot of headaches and dizziness. I might see my doctor about iron. I dont really eat alot of meat (used to be a vegetarian) but I havnt had any issues until I was pregnant.

    Thanks

It's not only red meat. Dark green leafy vegies too.
Spinach, silverbeet & that sort of stuff are high in iron.
Red meat is best under cooked, so its not the best thing in pregnancy anyway.

Thanks guys. They seem to have subsided today. My Ob was useless, said nothing at all apart from drink water, which I know will not help this kind of headache/dizziness, apart from the fact I am drinking water anyway.
Definitely not low in iron, but do have low blood pressure, but not unusually so. Hopefully it's passed anyway. Thanks again xo

webbmeg, I'm a bit late, but I had a migraine on the weekend and have realised I put two of my mild triggers together on Saturday to set it off. Obviously, together and with being pg it wasn't a good combination. Next time you have a migraine, write down what you have done and eaten that day and keep it handy. That's how I discovered my triggers, kept a log of several migraines. Oh and mine are different when pg just to make things more complicated ie. coffee is fine normally, but when pg it leads to a migraine

I had one bout of dizziness about 22 weeks and i was worried as i hadn't had it before. Asked my obs and he said it was just "one of the minor symptoms of pregnancy" and it could be low iron (sent me for a blood test). I thought it might have been low blood pressure but checked on my mum's home machine and all was fine.
