At what week can you find out the sex?

    Hello!

Not sure if this is in the correct area, if its not Im so sorry.

My question is, now days how many weeks do you have to be until you can find out the sex of your baby?
When I was pg with Annabelle is was 20wk scan. Is it the same now? Or earlier?

Still around the same. Most people have their morph scan between 18-20 weeks. I will have mine at nearly 20 weeks this time

I was told after 16 weeks you should be able to see. Some will give you a guess earlier but others will tell you its too early to tell (as was in our case).. we found out at the 18-20 week scan.

We found out at 13 weeks because we had CVS. Hoping that won't happen to you!

But our sonographer was able to see at 16 weeks. I think it depends on baby's position, skill of Dr, etc etc.

We were also able to find out at 16 weeks, however we paid for a 4d scan to be able to do this!

Similar to amniocentisis. If you know what that is?

The difference with CVS is where amnio takes a sample of the amniotic fluid, CVS takes a sample from the placenta. It is used for similar purposes (screenings etc).

You don't want to have either of them - they generally mean something bad! Or in my case, it was so prove it was NOT something bad!
