    Help! I've got a cold!

After the crappy fortnight we've had, my body has finally had enough and now I'm full of... excuse my words... snot. I'm so bunged up that I can barely think straight. My eyes are watery. My throat's sore. My nose is stuffy and drippy at the same time.
What can I do? What can I take?
I've tried Vicks which doesn't do much. I've tried Fess which has never done anything. I'm blowing my nose which doesn't do much. I feel so Blah!
    Help!

    Hi Wardy
Have you tried N/S nebs. It may help to loosen all the snot.
Also hot lemon drink and panadol can help you feel a little better.
Vicks in hot water and breathe the steam.
    Lots of cuddles from DP

aww Alan you're an angel to come to my rescue.

I had a shower with DS earlier to clean up the sinuses. It worked for a very short time, so I might try the Vicks/Steam thing.
    What's N/S nebs?

Oops sorry I thought you was a nurse
N/S nebs is a way of Vaporising N/S ( normal saline( salty water) and letting you breathe it in usually via a mask

Rach I was beginning to wonder where you were.

Sorry to hear you've got the lurgies. I find that a dose of panadol followed by a lot of moping about made me feel better when I had a cold during my PG.

Those sinus sprays could help if you can stand them. Personally hate them!

I was trying to translate it Alan and I think I was prety close.

I thought the nebs = nebuliser and the N/S was something to do with Saline. Fess is a nasal spray that's only saline which doesn't do much for cleaning my nose out unfortunately. Maybe through the nebuliser it's a finer mist and will help. If I get really bad, I'll investigate.

Hi Sammi Baby. It's been a tough 2 weeks with the dog's death, my stepdad's heart attack, kids being sick and DH having broken tooth then jaw infection as a result. My body's finally given up and it's saying it's my turn to have a break.

I was planning to take some panadol with bed along with taking my aloe vera tissues and a hot lemon drink. Hopefully in the morning I'll feel better. Thanks for you loving thoughts.

I found taking garlic tablets worked a treat in pregnancy.

    Thanks Tegan. I'll investigate.

I took a couple of panadol and had a hot lemon and honey. Ohhh it was so nice. I had another this morning and will sit and have one when Blake's in bed and relax. It made a lot of difference and was yummy!
