HELP! Ear drops in pregnancy

Hope someone can help me...

Went to the doctor just my GP (didn't seem to know about many Cat A drugs) as I've had an ear issue since before xmas that doesn't want to clear up and he has prescribed me Locacorten Vioform Ear Drops to take for 7 days, he told me they were category A but I've been researching this tonight as I'm reluctant to take anything but am sick of the ear issue but the only info I can find sounds like their haven't been any studies on women who are pregnant, I'm only very early in the pregnancy and don't want to do anything to harm my baby.
