    Red face Feeling guilty........damn chocolate.

I've been eating chocolate EVERY DAY the last probably 8 weeks!!!! I just love it lately. I didn't have hardly any in the first trimester and not much in the 2nd trimester really but since being about 27 weeks pregnant I've really made up for it...... without meaning to!

I suppose each day I eat it it's not that i'm eating a whole heap of it each day, the thing i feel guilty about is 'how often' i've been eating it!!! DAILY.

Like yesterday I had about 8 roses chocolates. The day before that I had about equivalent of 1 chocolate bar. We have had those Cadbury "favourites" in our house from early Christmas presents from people and also we bought some Choc Almonds (mmmm!) on sale from Kmart and so we've been eating them...... MUST NOT BUY ANY MORE!!!!

Does anyone else eat chocolate DAILY while pregnant or is it just me???? and is it worse for my hips than it is for bubs????? Pls say YES

Hope bub is okay I hope i don't give myself GD!!!

You so don't want to know about how much chocolate I consumed whilst pregnant - it was incredible.

But Miss M is perfectly fine and healthy

Just make sure you have the same amount in fruit or vegies or something.. everything in moderation right?

    Ren,

I have been eating choc daily from the start! I am a choccoholic at the best of times let alone now! I have also been craving soft drink as well and prob have a small glass or 2 a day! I thought for sure I would have GD but I was all good - I think as long as you are eating good foods as well that you and bub will be a ok!
My bub is doing maviously well even after all the chocc - even tho it appears to be comfy in my tum!!

Enjoy your choc and dont feel bad at all!!

    Love Kate

I go through stages every couple of weeks where I have to eat chocolate all the time. And 1st and 2nd Trimesters I was eating bags full of lollies every day... considering that I didn't put on any weight until I was 31 weeks so I think I did pretty well lol and I'm still below my pre-pregnancy weight, which is odd. I don't think it's too bad as long as you'e eating healthy otherwhise and your doctor isn't to worried.

I'm the smae. My sweet tooth has gone through the roof since I got back on the steroids. Luckily I haven't gained any weight other than my tummy and bbs.... yet. I'm with the other ladies- as long as you balance it all out it'll be fine.

I'm normally a svoury person but as soon as I am pregnant BAM! I need cordial, chocolate or lollies every day - no idea why? I still eat well in all other respects but have to have extra sugar for some reason.

Thanks girls!!! I feel heaps better now hehe

I've been eating really well each meal and always fruit each day and veges and protein etc but in between my healthy meals i spoil it with chocolate!!! LOL well actually i only really eat it at night time after dinner!!

I'm going to try and resist tonight!!! Might have some ice cream instead

Nah its really not that much i eat anyway its the fact i eat it every day that made me feel bad but reading all your posts i don't feel so bad now hehe

One of my friends ate a block of chocolate (family size) almost daily cos she just craved it and her little boy turned out fine!!!! (but i certainly dont eat that much!)

Nai - perhaps when pg we become more sweet toothed cos the baby is taking alot of our sugars from us? so we need more!? thats my theory LOL

oh my gosh, if you saw how much chocolate I ate in the third trimester!!! I used to drive to Manly (about 10 mins drive) just to go to Max Brenner (a chocolate cafe) & get a hot chocolate, a serve of 6 strawberries with melted choc to dip them in & 2 little cups of melted choc called lick sticks that you just dip a stick in & eat mmmmmmm & ontop of that I ate lots of chocolate topped donuts & chocolate bars

OMG just thinking of it I may take a little drive to manly tomorrow... haven't had it since I had Tobias (almost took the drive a few days ago but didnt get a chance)

Dont feel bad hun, make the most of it. While your pregnant people look at you differently while you're pigging out on chocolate as if its perfectly fine, then a few months down the track with your baby in the pram people look at you like you're a massive pig (which I am LOL)

    Enjoy your choc!!!!

Don't avoid eating it. It's actually meant to be good for you when pregnant.

I came across some research somewhere while I was pregnant that found that women who eat chocolate 5 or more times a week while pregnant are less likely to get pre eclampsia.

A friend of mine who normally ate chocolate every day couldn't stand it whilst pregnant and ended up with pre eclampsia. I ate it pretty much every day and didn't get it even though I was considered to be at a higher risk of getting it because of being a first time mum over the age of 40.

    I say go for it.

Your certainly not alone Ren - I ate heaps in third tri too and my DD is fine lol!

And yes there is a link between eating choc and reducing risk of preeclampsia but that is only for dark chocolate (high cocoa content). I say go for it hun!
