    Feeling hot hot hot!

    Hi Ladies!

Anyone else struggling with the heat? I'm in Sydney and am on day 6 of above 30 degree temps. Today I was dizzy non stop (to the point of freaking myself out), had a racing heart and felt exhaustion to the point of feeling sick. The low blood pressure has amped up and I'm getting headaches when I stand up (as well as almost fainting). Trying to drink heaps of water and stay cool (um, no air con and the house is 31 degrees). How are you all coping?

Baking buns is killer when it's this hot!!!

I live near Richmond so this is our 6th day of 42+ degree days.. literally! We do have a reverse cycle air con unit, doesnt work brilliantly, but with these temps im only feel effects from it if im sitting right under it. The cool doesnt reach our bedrooms so have spent a few nights on the lounge. I have been drinking powerade off and on which helps alot. Ive had low BP this pregnancy also so know how you feel. But ehhh what was i thinking having a summer baby!!!! My other 2 were winter babies and oh so much better.
But yes i do feel your pain.. bring on the cool change tomorrow afternoon!

PS.. its still 34 degrees here atm!

Shooting Star, how you managed over 40 degrees is beyond me! I am still recovering from the 30+!

Rurumummy - being dizzy sucks doesn't it. I can cope with most things but feeling dizzy and off balance isn't one of them. I'm only 14 weeks along so think it might be the longest pregnancy ever. Never got this dizzy with my first bubba.

At least the cool change has hit! Hopefully we'll all sleep better tonight and start to feel better :-)

Here are some tips for coping:

Get about in your underwear, use a fan or aircon whenever you can.

Drape a damp cloth (a tea towel works well) around your neck shoulders, take it off and cool it in front of the fan then reapply.

    Suck on ice

Sit with your feet in a cool (tepid) foot bath.

Take a cool shower as often as you need.

    Use a spritz bottle

Hang out at the library/shops/friends/family's house - or wherever you can that has aircon.

Ask around if anyone you know has a portable aircon you can borrow or think about hiring one if you can.
