Trinny & Susannah magic knickers - safe to use during pregnancy?
Hi All
I know this sounds like an absurd question... BUT just wonderng whether control briefs, not necessarily for the tummy area, but overall hip/butt are are ok to use during pregnancy? Is the fact that they are restrictive in the tummy area not good for a growing a bub?
Are there any that are specifically designed for pregnancy?
I'm only in my first trimester and have notice my body changing immensely - particularly around my waist area. I would like something to wear that may control my shape a little without it being too restrictive.
Soulful, I'm not really sure what the right answer to this is.
But if you can get them on in 14 weeks - good luck to ya!! I'm just letting it all hang out now. I'm pg and there ain't no undies that are going to stop it showing. There is a period where you just feel "fat" though, so maybe they'd be good during that.
I think it's rather that you'll find control type knickers are uncomfortable & restrictive. I know I cannot stand any tight knickers now that I'm pregnant. I buy a size bigger than I need now because I hate feeling the elastic.
I don't think control knickers would be dangerous though because bubs is fairly well protected in there.
I know Bonds make maternity knickers that go over the bump which you might find "suck" you in? Haven't tried them personally though.
I agree with CheezelMonster - it may not be a case of "shouldn't" wear them ( I don't know if there is a medical reason not too) but that they are too restrictive on your tummy for comfort. but I haven't even been able to wear my regular undies since 10-12 weeks - too uncomfy. i have the "bonds bumps" undies which curve under my (very large ) belly!
Just an idea - what about control top panty hose - cut off the legs to make shorts - and ladder / cut the front and waist band to loosen. They may still provide control on hips/butt - but you can relax the tummy part?
