    Metamucil & pregnancy?

It is ok to have this while pg isn't it? (I am sure I've read that somewhere...)
For those that drink it... OMG - HOW?!? I tried a glass this morning and could only drink half. I bought the 'smooth' one but it still tasted powdery? Is there a way to mix it better?
    TIA.

It's fine... I just can't drink the stuff, though! I use the capsules. As you can imagine with being on three iron tablets per day, they were a VERY good friend to me during second trimester!

I didn't realise there were capsules...
I'll bet. I am just not feeling 'right' this pregnancy so was hoping this would give me a gentle boost. Maybe drinking it will get easier over time...

I used it once or twice when I found out I was preggers.
I bought the berry flavour and mixed it with milk and found it OK
I could never drink the last bit tho! haha

I used the smooth Orange one during my Pg. The first time I used it I almost gagged. I found the best way was to keep the liquid moving by stirring, and just take a sip at a time. Trying to scull it is a bab idea!!! It is not something that gets better with time, so dont let it sit around to thicken.

Yep totally fine while pregnant.. used it with both pregnancies.
Try using cold water. I found if i use tap water or room temperature water then it was thick and ehh thick and grose.. found if i used cold water from the fridge, make sure its disolved properly of course, then it was alot easier to drink.

Juice!!!!! It's horrible in water. Apricot Nectar or orange/mango, kinda thicker juice makes it go down.

just make sure you put heaps of water with it. even more than it recommends and if it starts to thicken give it a stir and/or add more water. i dont mind the taste at all.

you definitely get used to the feeling...just try the different suggestions. I find sculling it straight after stirring vigourously best cause its over and done with really quick lol! I dont mind the flavour though, the orange one is the one I use!

Great, thank you all so much for the suggestions.
I had it again this morning and again I couldn't finish it. I've got the orange one.
I find I just can't dissolve all the powdery bits? I did use water from the fridge - I like a cold drink in the morning
Thanks, I will try the juice suggestion as well.

yeah i dunno about the milk thing, i think you can get some called benefibre that has no taste and you can put it into milk, tea and even food. i found it made me really gassy though. i just use tap water and scull it too.
