    Dizziness and blurry vision :(

Hey everybody, I hope somebody can give me a wee but of advice...

I am 20 weeks pregnant! Woop woop but I have been goin through a rough time the last few weeks, I have been really dizzy constantly and black out at least 3 times a week, I can't even go to the shop for some milk without passing out and really blurry vision, nauseous on top of that. I was in hospital last week with awful pains and the dizziness and the docs couldn't see anything seriously wrong, I have been out of work for 3 weeks cus I just can't stand for long periods. They found that my placenta is still lying too low and my blood pressure is very low but they said its nothing to worry about??? Also pre eclampsia runs in my family, my mummy almost died giving birth to me and brother... Can anyone please give me some advice or has this happened to you and found out what it was? Thank yooou

Hun, if you aren't sure head to the gp or the hospital. Blacking out isn't good! Especially the frequency you are having!

If pre eclampsia runs in the family, I'd go get seen to definitely! blurry visions, headache nausea, protein in urine and so many other symptoms!

Please take care and rest up!

Definitely get yourself checked, just to be sure. I have low blood pressure normally and have to be really careful during pregnancy because I got very dizzy and had a few fainting spells

FWIW, my mum had pre eclampsia with my brother and they both nearly died, but in numerous pregnancies my blood pressure never got scary so while family history puts you at greater risk, its not a forgone conclusion.

If they said you have low blood pressure that will explain the dizziness especially if you stand up fast. Pre-eclampasia is generally associated with high blood pressure so if yours is low it's not likely to be pre-eclampasia.

I assume they checked your iron levels but if you're not taking one a pregnancy multivitamin wouldn't hurt.

Definately sounds like low BP to me Ive always had low BP so prone to blackouts etc if I get dehydrated. My doctor is also monitoring now I'm preg. When I went to get my HCG results at 4w2d it was at 95/65. Id still see your GP simply because passing out when preg could be dangerous to bubs (getting knocked etc). Make sure you never go from lying down to standing up, that still occassionally gets me lol. And just make sure you are really well hydrated as the weather heats up

It does sound like low bp. One thing that can help low BP is wearing compression stocking or socks
(like the hospital gets you to wear to prevent blood clots)
And caffeine can raise BP, but check with the doctor about that first.

Definitely get checked by your regular doc, he/she will most likely have record of what your normal BP is.
With super low BP the risk to the baby is similar to high BP - lack of flow through the placenta.
