GESTATIONAL DIABETES Test.. Were your 1st test results right/wrong?
I did the 1st GDTest yesterday and the midwife called me today to say the results were slightly elevated and Im going in Monday morning to do the long GD test..
I was just wondering if there is a chance the results might not be accurate or is it usually the result that if the first test is elevated you have GD?
I have a few of the symptoms, thirst, tired & peeing heaps but isn't that just pregnancy?! lol
Anyhoo, interested to hear other people's experience with it
I had to go back for the 2nd one also as the first one was too high... 2nd one came back fine but it was a pain having to hang around the hospital for 3 hours! GL
My first one with DD1 was elevated and my long test turned out fine. With DD2 the OB just sent me to do the long one straight away as she said it was likely that the same thing would happen - once again it turned out fine.
With DD1 my first test was elevated so had to go back for the 2hr GTT and that one also came back elevated so i was diagnosed with GD. With this pregnancy, i had the GTT straight out (the 2 hour one) and it came back normal.
With DS my initial test was high, so I had the second test and I didn't have it.
With DD first test was fine.
With this bub my first test was high, did the second test it was also high so i was diagnosed with GD.
I hope everything is okay for you. When I found out I had it I was the biggest mess, it wasn't anywhere as bad as I thought. I wouldn't worry about it until you do the second test.
With DS2 my first one was high but 2nd one was fine. I asked her if it could have possibly been the fact that I had eaten a lot of chocolate that week. (chowed down on the kids xmas stockings ) and she said that was very likely it.
