I have never had a miscarriage.
My first pregnancy ended in a miscarriage. Since then I have had three healthy babies.
My Ob told me that the "1 in 3" statistic is a theoretical number. It includes pregnancies that miscarry when the mother doesn't even realise she was even pregnant. For example, if a mother was very early pregnant and miscarried at the same time she was due to have her period she would probably never know she had ever been pregnant. I think he said that of known pregnancies the miscarriage rate was about 1 in 5. So if you already know you are pregnant, your chance of miscarriage has already lowered :)
I'm also very, very fortunate to have had three pregnancies and no losses.
xx
Three pg's no losses. I know I am lucky, many of my friends have suffered miscarriages.
I've had 9 pregnancies and 4 losses. My sister has 4 bubs, no losses, my other sister has 2 bubs with one on the way. My mum had 6 pregnancies with 1 loss.
First was mc
2nd live baby
And currently 10.5wks pg with no 3 all looking healthy
So 1 in 3 for me
I wonder how many u never know about I often ask dh if one day ill go to heaven and have like a hundred kids I never knew about waiting for me
Well, Ianto was stillborn, so no known *miscarriages*...
My mum's got three live children from 7/8 pregnancies :( Me, my brother, very early miscarriage, another brother, miscarriage around 12ish weeks, miscarriage around eight weeks, and the rest I didn't know about until a few years later so I have no idea on dates. Apparently she was pregnant at the very beginnings of both my pregnancies too :(
Miscarriage then 2 beautiful boys.
I think I had an early natural miscarriage once, but never done a HPT so I don't actually know for sure. But gut feeling at the time, yes.
Since then I have had 1 pregnancy and 1 live baby.
The reason why 'in the olden days' women didn't have as many miscarriages is that they didn't have super-sensitive pregnancy tests like we do now.
So many women don't realise they miscarriage. I'm pregnant with my second hold and have had 7 miscarriages. None of those seven survived to 6 weeks. I was a crazy testing addict and would get a positive before my period was due and then my period would arrive right on schedule or within a few days. They're called chemical pregnancies. When you see that positive and then it's negative a week later the heartbreak is excruciating because you want your baby so much.
I know, for me, I wouldn't have known about 6 of my miscarriages if I hadn't tested regularly and early.
I've had 2 children and 5 mc. (3 of them chems so super early.)
4 of those have been when I've been 40 though so that probably makes the statistics worse. (Although I think my stats must still be worse than 'average'.)
I was reading an article recently that said that recurrent mc might sometimes actually be due to being "super-fertile" i.e the uterus is too welcoming to any old egg, whereas normally it is more selective so less of the defunct ones get through... or something like that. (Although it's been over a year now and I'm still no closer to having that baby, so I don't really *feel* super fertile right now!!! ;) )
I don't know if that answers your question though, I think you were asking for positive stories!!
I had three healthy pregnancies followed by two miscarriages in a row. Pregnant again, hopefully with a healthy full term baby!!
1 chem pregnancy and 1 bub on the way now :)
We've been pretty lucky in my family. I've had 2 pregnancies resulting in 2 babies :D My sister had the same and our mum had 3 pregnancies and 3 babies.
I've had 3 pregnancies with 1 miscarriage.
I did however have two months in a row after the loss where i got a BFP and days later AF arrived but i try not to think of them as losses.
Thank you ladies for your replies. It is obviously alot more common than I thought! I really just wish I knew what caused mine. For some reason, I think I would feel better if I knew.
I have had been pregnant 5 times with 2 miscarriage's.. One after our first child and the last one back in July after having 2 other healthy baby's.
my sister has 3 children and no losses,my mum had 2 kids and no losses. It's strange how it all works.
1st baby was stillborn at 26 weeks and currently pregnant with 5th baby. I've never worried about a miscarriage, I only start stressing out as my pregnancy approaches the 25 week mark and then I worry like crazy until the baby is here!
