Back pain - physio, chiro, remedial???

This is my third pg and I am only 6w4d but can see a mile away that my back is going to play up big time this pg. it was never great before pg so expected I guess. Anyway, any advice on the best type of therapy to use??? What were your experiences during pg???

I went to Chiro fortnightly through most of my last pg. that helped for me; currently going 3-4 weekly now a year later but that's due to a combination of school stuff (I'm a teacher librarian) and bf in a chair that's not super good for my back at night when I get a bit lazy with posture.

I loved my Osteo who is also a remedial massage therapist. She'd work the knots out of my back and hip beautifully.

An osteo who does cranio sacral work. Pregnant women and babies respond beautifully to it If you're in Melbourne, Clare Gordon used to work at the BellyBelly Pregnancy centre and had raving clients She is now the Vic president of the osteopath association. Good luck!

not in melb i live quite far out so my options are a bit limited unless i want to drive a long way - i booked in with a women's physio for today who also does massage. might start there and if no help have to suck up the drive i think! i never had back aches this early with my girls. Thinking that it may be a combination of getting preg 6 months after DD2, not losing all my baby weight from her and i think i had quite bad tummy muscle separation from memory which i have heard can contribute - like an old old lady!

tubigrips can also be of benefit especially for the muscle separation (which can be a contributing factor towards back pain).

I had pelvic instability with my first two pregnancies and saw a physio. Apart from strapping my back and suggesting a belt, it didn't really help much. With our third pregnancy our doula recommended a chiro who was fantastic. She really worked on aligning the pelvis as I'd always have pain on one side. I could actually walk really well during third trimester, which is something that i struggled with for the first two pregnancies. I've since recommended a few other friends who have experienced something similar when pregnant and they have also raved about her. I'd previously never seen a chiro before, but would highly recommend one now. I even got my DH to see her and he feels it makes a big difference for his neck and back.
