Help! 12 week NT timing question

Hey ladies, I'm after some advice. My gp referred me to have my 12 week NT scan done at my local radiology place. She said they'll do the analysis there and inform me of the results straight away, as long as I do the blood test a week in advance and have the BT results sent straight to the radiology place.
    Sounded super.
    HOWEVER,
at my first antenatal appointment at the hospital the midwife said that the BT should be done around the same day of the scan to ensure greater accuracy, and definitely NOT a week before. So I called the radiology place and they said they've never heard of that rule before and that "the BT results don't really change after week 9 in that regard".
Soo... Now i'm utterly confused. Should I do what the midwife in the hospital said? If so, will I need a new referral? My current one says " 12week NT scan and COUNSELLING" can I just go in for the scan without the counselling? Also on the BT referral it says to send the results to the radiology, but if I do the BT on the day of the scan the results should be send to the hospital, as the radiology won't be doing the analysis. Can I just ask the BT people to send it to the hospital or will I need to get the referral changed?

Sorry it's long and complicated. I'm really lost and confused and I need help

Short reply sorry (in bed should be sleeping!!) but I had all four of my NT blood tests done between 10 and 11 weeks for the express purpose of the sonographer doing the interpretation. Even for the miscarriage, I'd already has the bloods done. Always did it before the scan.

    HTH in some way.

the midwife is mistaken. bloods are usually done a week before, as the GP and radiology place said.

I used to work in this area, and if you google 'first trimester screening ghsv' you will find a brochure that gives date ranges for when bloods and ultrasound can be done.

I went for my 12 week scan and bloodtest on the same day (within 2 hours if each other) and I saw a genetic counsellor that same appointment...
The whole exercise took about 2 hours with tests/scan/counseling but at the time I was so busy at work that it was much better then trying to schedule two appointments and have two disturbed days.,

    Can definitely be done..

bloods have to be sent to the State lab and analysed. your appt would have to be adjoined to the lab, and have perfect timing with the running of samples to get results combining both bloods and ultrasound in 2 hours.

Get the bloodtest at 10 weeks. They should then have the result by the time of your scan. The scan place then sends their results to the state lab who responds with a risk profile based on a combination of the bloodtest & scan. For DS3, my blood & paperwork was misfiled, so they hadnt analyzed the blood. I had to wait another week after the scan to get my final risk profile.

Thanks for your imput ladies! Apparantly it is quite common for my hospital to request the bloods and scan to be around the same day. I'm booked in for the scan now and luckily I don't need new referrals!

    Thanks again lovelies!
