are herbal teas safe in pregnancy (especially early on)?

I think I read somewhere that you have to be careful which kinds of tea you have when pregnant, or maybe I am mixing that up with something about essential oils in general, not sure where I read it.

Anyway, I have the following in the cupboard, would love to know which are OK and which may not be:

    - blackberry
    - spearmint & chamomile
    - chamomile
    - peppermint
    - lemon

Are any of these going to be a problem if I drink some when pregnant (not more than a couple of cups a day, I don't go nuts on the stuff, usually).

hey there and congrats on the pg

i would be very careful about taking any types of herbal teas, or tonics without medical advise in any stages of pg.

I am loving decaf English Breakfast tea at the moment!!!! Maybe give that a try

Otherwise it might be worth calling into a health food shop and asking them when they recommend- i am pretty sure that ginger tea is fine!! or doing some reasearch on the internet.

Teas are great a very theraputic- just gotta make sure they are used for the right purpose at the right time!

    take care and good luck
