Morning all,

Sorry havent posted for a while.

Black Rose - Thankyou hun, how is everything going along for you? Yay for those mini targets, it will make time ab it easier to get through, enjoy Disney on Ice and DD's birthday. We will definately be here for your outlet honey. Ohh and yay for reaching 32wks, awesome. hugs

Beema - Im so glad your cervix lengthened. Yippe. Im awfully sorry your having some more worry, I hope those BH settle down. I was worried at first when you said you heard a pop and leaked, then relief came over me when your OB said that it didnt have the appearance of amniotic fluid. Phew. Make sure you let us know what the test results came out as, and take it easy ok. I cant believe how quickly this pgcy is starting to fly either, in a way I want it to slow down, just so I can enjoy it some what. lol. Yet as you know there is always something to worry us. My mum has an underactive thyroid, she was saying to me it took them ages before they decided to medicate her, and is surprised they went straight in and gave it to me. lol. I dont know about you hun, but Im sick of all the appts already. Keep behaving for you mummy little Flicker. Loads of hugs. How hard is it not being able to lift a toddler, especially when all they want is to be lifted most of the time.

Crumpet - Ohh hun, you have no idea on how happy I am for you, that is wondeful news. Keep the good news rolling ok. You almost reached Beema's lol. hugs

Well as for me, Im not sure if the thyroid meds are totally agreeing with me, have had 2 days of terrible cramping just before needing to go to the loo, and of course you know what happens after the cramping so wont go into that. Ive also had niggly headaches, then yesterday a terrible one that just wouldnt let up. So now I have taken the meds again, the fourth day, and seeing what happens today. I also dont get to see the endocronoligst or what ever you call him until another 3wks, yet I will mention this if it continues at my next hospital appt with the OB, in just over a wks time. Feel like I am coming down with the flu again, and my DD"s have started too. Worries me with my Little V as a couple of wks ago, had her in hossy as they think now she has asthma, so is on ventolin and steroid puffers, so I am really hoping that she doesnt get any worse, and that the ventolin and sterodis help her fight it off. I really dont feel like another night or so in hospital with her. Ohh I am so hungry, didnt get up until 8.40am which is when I had to take the meds for thyroid, and you have to have it on an empty stomach, and then wait an hour before you can eat. Ohh my stomach is grumbling like mad. Have another 20mins before I can eat, lol.

I am not currently pg but fear/feel that any future pg will be classed high risk. I had PE/HELLP as well as GD with DDs pg and she was born at 34+1 via an induced labour and vaginal drug free birth.

I am scared of future pg and wanted to hang out here to see/read how you guys overcome your high risk issues - you are all inspirations to me xox

Hi all

Just thought i would introduce myself.

8 weeks and 4 days preg now, high risk pregnancy due to losing my daughter 16 months ago at 41 weeks preg, due to uterine rupture and placental abruption. She lived for 2 days before we had to turn off life support, due to no brain activity.

but im having a bad start to today.....

woke up at 6 with cramps, thinking it was wind, released the pressure ( sorry TMI) and it didnt go, got up went to the loo and have brown CM, so naturally i freaked out!
went back to bed and did my progesterone and things settled a little bit, layed there and by 815 or so everything had settled.... the cm seems to be backing off as well....

im so terrified all i want is a few weeks of no sickness or dramas is it to much to ask?!!?

sorry i know we are all having rough trots atm.....:hug:

Beema what a scary time, just when you felt like you could relax. I hope the nefidipine kicks in soon and stops the BH.

Csab its not fair about the endo, I never saw mine as my first appointment I ended up in hospital when the labour first started adn the second was after dd was born so there was no point. I know they are busy but they should keep see people earlier. Both my girls have asthma, although its not supposed to be diagnosed so early they were on seratide for treatment before 12 months. Keeping her warm, elevating her cot and using a vapouriser might help.

Butterflyforever what a heartbreaking journey, I hope we can support you through the next couple of months.

Crumpet hope you are feeling better this afternoon, I used to get that kind of pain every few weeks as the baby grew.

AFM I have had the BH come back stronger than ever today so I am glad I have a checkup on Tuesday.

Crumpet - thinking of you, I had almost 3 weeks of brown spotting, it drove me nuts, was going to the loo every half hour, I really hope it settles hun, keep us updated.

Black rose - dreading the BH again, I get them quite strong too, hope they settle, take it easy.

afm - just tired and sick, had a Macdonalds at lunch, really wish I hadn't, got indigestion now.

Csab, how are you feeling? It generally takes a while for the levels of thyroxine to build up in your system, but if it get's to a point where you are Overactive you'll have symptoms like rapid heart rate, hand tremors, heat intolerance. Rapid heart rate is generally the dead giveaway. I guage my dosage on that a lot and it seems to be a pretty accurate indicator. Hope your symptoms are subsiding.

Butterflyforever :hug: I'm so sorry for the loss of your daughter. I hope this pregnancy is smooth sailing for you.

Black_rose. Hang in there! You've only got 4 more days to reach 34 weeks. Lets hope you hit all your mini goals.

TK1999, welcome! Hope your TTC journey is short and sweet. I know someone who had HELLP with their first pregnancy but didn't get it at all second time around so :crossfingers: you are the same.

Beema, how are you going hun? Hope the BH and fluid have settled down for you.

Crumpet, how are you doing sweetie? Hope the cramps and spotting have settled down for you too.

AFM, nothing to report really. Just plodding along. BSL's have been okay so I'm hopeful that I can keep off the insulin for a bit longer. I have my next antenatal appointment this wednesday so we'll see what comes of that. I can't tell if bubs is still breech. I feel movement high and low :dunno: I've been thinking a lot about the birth lately and I think I'm on the verge of deciding on an elective CS. I dunno, I just don't have the confidence in my bodies ability to birth vaginally ATM. We'll see what the next few weeks bring.

i think i may have been jumping the gun and paranoid over nothing, everything was settled and gone by 10 yesterday morning.....

i did feel a bit heavier than normal by last night but nothing to major, so im assuming it was either the internal scan and my low placenta or stetching and stuff.....

just enough to give me heart failure!

Welcome tk, lovely to see you here hun, I have 3-4 friends who all had PE/HELLP with their first bubbas and wonderfully all of them have made it to FT with future pregnancies, there was a lot more monitoring, very regular BP checks, growth scans etc and protein checks. The good thing about PE is that it is rare that you get it in subsequent pregnancies unless you have a new male partner, so hopefully when the time comes and you feel ready to try again, you will have a much smoother pregnancy. GD isn't a neccessarily a definite either another firned who had it in her first didn't have it in her second pregnancy and is passing the gestation of her first bub of 32 weeks at the moment and still looking great!!!

Fears are completely normal, DH and I were talking with friends about it on the weekend and for a long time we didn't think we would try again but eventually you feel ready and take the plunge as such :hug:

Great news on the BLS Mamaspice, hopefully they keep in the good ranges and you can skip the insulin :dance: Make the birthing decision that you feel you can achieve, do you have specific fears about VB, maybe we can talk some of them through :hug:

Welcome ButterflyForever! I am so sorry for the passing of your sweet little angel :hug: Wonderfuly news on the HB and perfect growth of bub. I hope all goes well with your cerivx and scarring.

:hug: Crumpet, I hope the cramps have settled for you, great to hear the Progesterone is doing it's thing, will you be continuing them throughout the pregnancy?

csab, I had that feeling for quite a while as well, I would also get it around AF time and it was horrible, so I completely understand what you are going through there.

DD is also on Ventolin up to 6 puffs every two hours, Flixotide morning and night and Prednisolone, without this mix she would have had a couple more admissions this year already, and if we miss one dose of the Flixotide gets very wheezy. We had a close call a couple of weeks ago and called the locum out and also had constant visits to the GP to get her through, but made it even with a traecheal tug (a sign of repisratory distress), I had a feeling the tug was mild enough that we could cope with it. We can't take her out in the cold for very long, as it just hits her too hard. She had another year or so to go before her lungs have grown enough for it to be less of an issue, DD's right lung isn't inflated fully so it doens't work to it's capacity. But it makes it a lot easier since we have had a diagnosis, we have a better action plan and we know what to look for in forms of respiratory distress and know when to take her into the ER.

AFM ~ Very bust weekend with family down for DD"s birthday, we a lovely weekend, I tried to rest as much as possible, but it was tricky... Got through without any BH's until a few last night, but they didn't last for long and weren't as intense as Thursday so I felt okay with them. Get my test results either this afternoon or tomorrow, haven't even been thinking about them we have been so busy. I think my mum and MIL will be down in the next week or so to help me decorate DD's new room, as we will be moving her into a bigger room and her room will be for Flicker. And I really want to get pictures hung on the walls and a few other things sorted out.

Must go and invoice and write a construction specification - yay :lol:

my OB is hoping to have me off the progesterone about 3 weeks after next week.....
ill do a week of morning and night doses after the stitch then a week of night only, then a week of every second night and then i should be able to stop.....
mind u im semi expecting to have to keep it up i was on it till the last minute last time....

Good to hear that the progestrone is working so well for you, I hope the weaning process works, but if it doesn't at least you it is something that you can continue if need be :hug: my OB said that if we have problems after the next scan then I will be on it as well.

Beema - Yay for the all clear with your results, what a huge relief. Ohh poor N, It seems we are going along a very similar road, with our little ones. Thankfully though V is only on the ventolin and the flexitide 2 times a day 2 puffs each time. If she starts to get worse though like as you said the Tug, we need to increase it. We were also told if she needs less than 3 hourly with 6puffs a day she needs to go back to emergency. So I keep monitoring her. She has her dietiician tomorrow. How was little N's Birthday? I hope the cold whether eases up for her, poor little thing, must be hard on you too. hugs

Blackrose - Thanks hun, sorry to hear you all have asthma. I spoke to the Endo Dr today and he wants me to go in and see them tomorrow. hugs

Well have still been getting very bad headaches, and some are very quite hard to get rid of. I woke up with another one today, so it has been everyday, yet thankfully I got rid of it. Anyway spoke to the Hospital clininc who got the Endo Dr to call me back, they dont think that the headaches are from the meds for the thryoid, but want to check for other causes, so now I have to go back to see them tomorrow morning so they can check BP and other possible causes. So yay for me,(not) another several hours waiting at the hospital and the dieticians as well for Little V. I have been there every week so far. It will be good when I dont have to go as often. hugs all.

Mammaspice I had a VBAC with GD so let me know if you have questions, I was going to have an elective CS if I got past 38 weeks though as my ob did't want dd to get too big.

TK, you will know when you are ready, BB is a great source of information and for support. An you will be well prepared when the time comes.

Beema glad to hear the BH have settled down and on that you got the all clear on the test results. IKWYM about being organised I have been the same as well. Yayy on getting the new room for DD all done up, she will feel all special when she moves.

but the bood news is no more excitment here!!!

Now I am 24 weeks I am aiming to get to 28 weeks, and then 30 weeks. 28 weeks has some really good leaps in terms of development so there are some big pluses getting past that point. Even though there is no guarentee with any prems... :( I think my OB's aim was to get us past 24 weeks and as close or into the 30's, she said from very early on I won't make it to term, as did another High Risk OB, so the aim hasn't been as far at 37 weeks, would be fab to prove everyone wrong, but I feel that body isn't going to let that happen, atm the moment I feel that 28 weeks seems so far away... I think once we get on top of the BH's and the dosages right hopefully things will settle.

Each tablet is 20mg, it is a slow release form so takes 1-2 hours to work, but lasts longer, but my OB said we may have to switch it to a quicker acting dose and up the dosage if it isn't keeping them at bay, which is my feeling, I didn't expect them to ramp up so much this week though, so was more than happy with the initial dosage, but it isn't taking the edge off enough I think.

i think they had me on 2 x 20mg in hospital but i cant remember how often it was now.... maybe 4 hrly and if i was going ok then they would stretch it out....

its good it can be adjusted accordingly.....

Beema I was on 60mg every four hours last time, but it made me so tired I would sleep on the couch while dd1 played in the loungeroom.

Glad N has had a great birthday week it's fun watching their reaction although they usually love all the paper just as much!

I had my hospital appointment today. All is looking good with bubs. They're not 100% but they think he has turned cephalic, yay. Also my BP is awesome 115/65, Yay. The downside of todays appointment is that they have decided to start me on 4 units of insulin at night. :(
Black_rose I am still keen on VBAC but I want bubs to come a little early. I'm not feeling comfortable with going overdue for VBAC. Especially with having GD and all. I might start some natural induction techniques from about 36 weeks, Lol.
Here I am wanting to try to bring things on a little early when you girls are struggling to hold on as long as possible. I really hope that doesn't come across as insensitive to you guys.

Beema - Yay!!! 24 weeks, that's a big milestone. Seems like so far away to me at the mo. Hope the BH settle, scary isn't it. 28 weeks will soon be here. I have the milestones as well, my overall aim is to deliver by 34 weeks, but I will be hossy on bed rest for a few weeks.

Black Rose - hope the BH don't get any stronger.

Mamaspice - glad all is going well, hope the natural induction works and bub decides to make a slightly early appearance, not long to go now.

afm - not a lot going on, spotted slightly a couple of days ago and freaked, but seems to have settled now. My next goal is 12 weeks. Busting out of my pants at the mo, will have to invest in maternity clothes it's embarrassing.

Aww thanks Black_rose, yes bub coming around the 37 week mark would be perfect! :crossfingers: They're actually getting me to have a scan next friday at 33 weeks. Not sure if they'll want to do another one after that or not.

Thanks for that black_rose :) It seems that the dosages I am on isn't enough as I have had them again tonight, and I feel so tired as well. yeah it was great DD was so into her presents it was awesome!! I have to pack a heap of her toys away tomorrow if I can in the afternoon, she has way too many things out and I need to put the baby stuff away. Glad to hear that they are monitoring your BH's, you are doing a great job hun!

I am so glad your spotting has stopped ButterflyForever, it is horrible and scary, I've had bleeding in both pregnancies, this time it was a lot worse :(

AFM ~ other than BH's I am only up as I have been waiting for my laptop to stop backing up to my new external hard drive, my old one was 5 years old and was due to be replaced, it has just finished so I am off to bed and hopefully get a break soon!

Crumpet congrats on 14 weeks hun!

I had my hospital appointment today. All is looking good with bubs. They're not 100% but they think he has turned cephalic, yay. Also my BP is awesome 115/65, Yay. The downside of todays appointment is that they have decided to start me on 4 units of insulin at night. :(
Black_rose I am still keen on VBAC but I want bubs to come a little early. I'm not feeling comfortable with going overdue for VBAC. Especially with having GD and all. I might start some natural induction techniques from about 36 weeks, Lol.
Here I am wanting to try to bring things on a little early when you girls are struggling to hold on as long as possible. I really hope that doesn't come across as insensitive to you guys.

Crumpet - Yay!! 14 weeks, glad all going smoothly atm.
afm - not a lot going on, spotted slightly a couple of days ago and freaked, but seems to have settled now. My next goal is 12 weeks. Busting out of my pants at the mo, will have to invest in maternity clothes it's embarrassing.

Not sure that will happen though, it feels like the head is starting to engage and the bh are happening during the day not painful but just enough to make it feel like my body is preparing for labour, might have to go back to the ob earlier.

AFM ~ MIL said I am nesting :o bascially have been for three days... I am planning that it is just me trying to get a few things done now, rather than in a 10 weeks time :)
OB appointment tomorrow, another cervix check, last chance for a stitch but I feel that my length should be good this week, not sure why just have a feeling, even with all the BH's ramping up. Still getting the timing of the Nif right, have to do it earlier int he day as 4pm is too late, so going to try 2pm today to see if that stops it more efficiently. Friday night was brilliant, my belly was so soft and relaxed it was amazing :D Last two nights not so much :rolleyes:

No running beema! I was nesting at around 24 weeks too, I figured it was easier to get it all done then and if bubs comes later it's all ready anyway. Hope you can work out the best time to take the nef for the bh to stay under control.

Thanks girls for all your thoughts, had a bad weekend, not bh but really weird back aches, not spd so I wondering if it's the way bubs is lying. It happens towards the end of the day, and my belly aches too, might have to see if I can have a checkup this week. We were planning a day trip yesterday but cancelled it jic as dh was worried. The bh have come back this morning so I am resting on the couch with dd.

I had really strange waves of pain on saturday morning. Sorry for the TMI factor but I felt like I needed to go to the loo so I sat down on the toilet and started getting really bad pains in my bottom that kind or radiated around into my lower tummy. Real achy crampy buring pains. It was very ouchy and I had to stand up and lean forward against the vanity to make it more bareable. Anyway after a bit or walking around the pains subsided but boy were they painful. I was starting to wonder if I was in labour (I've never laboured before so have no idea what to expect with contractions).
Wonder if it's my body starting to get into practice?

Other than that, all is well. I have my growth scan on Friday so it will be interresting to see whether bub is cephalic for sure, or still breach.
