I just spoke to a girlfriend about ds kicking me in the ribs and she said that (this is one of those a friend of a friend of a friend stories) she knows of a girl who's ds cracked one of her ribs while inside her womb???

Really, I mean really, really. Can this happen? Sure ds has been kicking me like a soccer ball .. but hard enough to crack a rib? I'm not convinced.

Anyone know of anyone this has happend too?

I have heard of this.. no idea how true it is..

I honestly don't think so cus of all the cushionning that is in there.. but then again you can crack a rib from coughing

I've heard of it too. They do get pretty rough and strong towards the end and with not a lot of room to spare then anything is possible.
Gives me a reminder not to slouch and cramp bub up now

It takes quite a bit of force to crack the rib of a normally healthy person. I doubt that your baby could do this unless you have a medical condition that causes brittle bones

i had brusing under my ribs from my DD the MW said it was from my sit down job and bubs being cramped and kicking the same spot.... but no broken ribs...

A friend had her baby dislocate her rib by kicking before he was born. She was a small lady, and, if I remember right, he was a huge baby! The doctor apparently had to break his collar bone to deliver him. Sounds like a severe shoulder dystocia, or something like that. It happened about 10 years ago, before I was paying attention to these things!
