I have noticed that im really not as big as most of the other mums that are this pregnant and im wondering if it means small bub, he is prosterier does that make a difference?
Im booked for a ceaser in 3 weeks + 3 days.
me at 35 weeks, it hasnt grown this week and im now 36+1 weeks
My three pregnancies all saw me with a relatively small bump... and I had 7.10 pounds 8.8 pounds and 9 pounds even babies I put it down the fact that I have strong abdominal muscles and not much fat around my waist. Also I am a little taller than the average woman... all helps to minimise the size. I wouldn't worry if your carers aren't concerned. Also, the amount of fluid in the amniotic sac can really vary between women. My last baby was also born at 37 weeks, I was a little worried but like I mentioned; he was 9 pounds.
I was pretty compact with my first bub and he was posterior, and over nine pounds.
I was slightly smaller with my second and he was anterior and seven pounds 9 ounces.
So it could be a number of things, bub's position, your stomach muscles, your height, and bub's size. So you can't really tell for sure I don't think.
NO!
There are alot of things that change the way your bump looks to every one elses!
Your bump looks a good healthy size to me!
I am tall with I guess a long torso, so mine looked small.
My DD1 was 7lb 5oz. My 2nd belly was smaller & measured smaller for dates, but she came out 8lb 9oz!!
Your bump really does tell you nothing.
As people have said i don't think the bump is an indiactor of the baby size. Some people just manage to conceal them well.
My GF and i are generally about the same size, she looked like she'd had a big dinner and gave birth to a 7lb something baby, i on the otherhand was the sizre of a small whale and gave birth to a 5lb 14 baby.
I think you're just lucky to have one of those compact bumps.
No, afraid not! I was tiny tiny tiny to the point where nurses were coming in to look at me when I went into labour as I was so small and I had an 8 pound 3 oz baby. This time I am about the same size (carrying differently though) and am expecting a 9 pounder ....
my bump was HUGE!!!! I looked like i was going to tip forward at any moment and my daughter was born just under 6lbs...darn it, couldnt blame the gain on her LOL!
for me....nope. I got told at 35 wks with pg #1 and #2 that from behind i didnt look pregnant....i am a basketball figure pregnant woman - it literally looks like ive swallowed a basketball, my tummy is nice, round and compact...but i have 8lb13oz babies......or thereabouts....
Definately not! An old school friend of mine only had a small bump and surprised the hell out of everyone in the delivery room- especially the midwife - when she birthed an 11 pounder.
