how important is the timing of the 19-weel scan?

I have a scan booked in for 19 weeks 1d, at the moment. But I'd like to delay it by about 10 days, because my husband will be away on the day I booked the scan.

Does anyone know what the window of time is for the ultrasounds they do at that stage? If I have to, I'll go alone, but I know DH will be sad to miss out on seeing the baby and asking questions of the doctor.

BHL was away for my 19 week scans aswell, you can ring and ask them but I think they like it at 19 weeks as they then do all the test that need to be done ( this takes awhile ) If they tell you they want you in at 19 weeks just ask if you can book another appointment when you DH is home this is what I always did and they were fine with it, but most the time you will need to go to your GP to get another refural ( sp?)

btw i think they like you just to have it before 21 weeks. Tho i had mine at 19 weeks and another at 23 weeks coz they couldnt get good pics from the 19 week one as bub was still too small and un co operative.

I had my "19 week scan" when I was around 23 weeks as I was on my honeymoon for the month before that and the hospital was fine with that!
