Hypnobirthing or calm birth classes in Hobart?

Does anyone know if there are any hypnobirthing or calm birth classes in Hobart? I'm still exploring my options for the best birth possible with my dodgy neck/upper back. I've been thinking about C-sections, natural with epidural and now hypnobirthing!!

some places offer hypnobirthing by correspondance so if you don't find any local ones try googling. i did mine this way from a place based in canberra. cheers! jo.

Hi Tilda,

I have been wondering the same thing, as I have never seen any advertised anywhere. My sister did Hypnobirthing in Brissy and highly recommended it to me, so I have had a little bit of a look around but haven't seen anything specifically for Hypnobirthing classes.

The closest I have found is 'Stream of Life' in Newtown (Ph. 0419 532 286) who have Active Pregnancy classes which teach you how to "discover the disappearing pain technique and how to make labour easier and more enjoyable". I haven't looked into it yet but am thinking about it!

I'm sorry this is such a late reply but I came across this thread in a search and wanted to let you know that I am running calmbirth classes in Hobart. I won't post my link out of respect for the forum guidelines but searching google with those keywords should get to me.
I hope your birth went really well although I imagine it seems like a distant memory now!

Thanks Taskel! I actually had a cs but it was wonderful none the less. I had fabulous care at Hobart Private. The doctors and midwives were amazing. And I don't think I'd be breastfeeding if it hadn't been for all their help. I'm living in Sydney now but I'm glad to hear you've started classes in Hobart. Good luck!
