I am so disappointed

All boys - i am really sorry you're going through this - i have been following your journey from finding out you had a girl, to the disappointment of a boy and now i see you're in limbo - that must be so very difficult for you. as much as the sentiment of "as long as it's healthy" is a lovely one to have, when you are given something then have it taken away it must make thinking like that all the harder. will be looking forward to your BA in the coming weeks

I understand you feeling like you have lost your little girl, is there any chance next time (if you choose a next time) you can get IVF or something to insure a girl? I know that might sound a little cold and I dont' know if you can even choose gender with IVF but I am just offering some light for you.

i just want to comment on this for anyone else reading - it's not possible to gender select with IVF unless there is a gender related genetic issue that you are trying to overcome - and even then it's not 100% guaranteed. IVF just can't be used for that purpose sorry

:yeahthat: And it's also not just a matter of the IVF clinics not allowing gender selection, it's illegal, and for good reasons. That's not to say that people don't have legitimate non-medical reasons for wanting a specific gender, of course.

I've been following your thread and can't imagine how much of an emotional rollercoaster it must have been for you over the past few weeks - and it's not over yet! Sending you lots of :hug: :hug: and will be thinking of you.

I wouldn't begin to try and imagine what GD is like, but I think GD can be underestimated - because, as BG said, everyone expects you to be happy that you have a "healthy baby." I really hope you are having a girl, and also hope that you can find some space to grieve if you're not.

Allboys is a special lady hard to forget! I've also been waiting to see the birth announcement of a special little bundle of joy born into the family.... I've been thinking over the last 2 weeks or more 'surely she's had the bub by now'! I hope you are well honey :stork-girl:

Oh you ladies are wonderful :lol: I feel so important and loved.

Well as you can see I am STILL waiting. I am a week over today and have an appointment with OB at hospital to get an induction date. Something I really didnt want but I am exhausted. I think the whole emotional side of this pregnancy has well and truely caught up with me and I am done.

I have had two S&S done and although soft and very slowly dialating (1cm) I havent had anything significant.

As for the gender thing although I am trying so hard to be positive and still call her a girl I do have those mild panic attack days of what if it is a boy??? Its a really horrible feeling to have and I try to distract myself but it is always there.
Maybe thats why I havent gone into labour yet, Im still protecting myself.

So thats where we are at, thank you so much for your thoughts and kindness, I really appreciate knowing that you are thinking of me and sending me all these pink vibes :clap:

To be honest, when I first started reading your post - I was getting a bit peed-off to say the least (4 m/c & ttc # 2 for 16 months), but then I read further about you being told it was a girl, selling all your boy items etc... and I feel really quite sad & somewhat disappointed for you. I think Trillian's suggestion to go to the Gender Dis thread would be a good idea. I hope you can find some peace.

Me too - and then I remembered how I felt when they told me that baby #6 was a boy, after five girls, and how I nearly fell off the ultrasound table. Gender disappointment had always been one of my big OHNOYOUDIDN'T! issues, but now I know what I'd have felt like if later on they'd said they'd made a mistake and it was another girl. I know I'd have got over it and loved the baby just the same, but yeah, you've got this picture in your mind of the baby you were having, you had hopes and dreams attached to that, and you have to let those go now, and there will be hurt involved in that.

I hope that the hurt isn't too bad, and that you are able to enjoy the rest of your pregnancy. I hope you get some time to buy some special little things for your wee little boy.
