    Calamari?

is calamari safe to eat during pregnancy? I was reading up and it says it is a low level mecury type of seafood.. but still never told me wether it was safe or not
its our 2nd wedding anniversary on monday and we are going out to hogs breath for dinner and for the entree we usually get the "finger foods" thing which has salt and pepper dusted calamari and iam drooling about eating it again..

so is it safe does anyone know? I hope so coz i really wanna eat it hehe, ive been drooling over the menu cant wait!

    thanks

Hi Lesley!! How are you. How did I miss you were Preggas? Congratulations!!!
How quick has the time gone, since you were living in Adelaide??

I'm not sure about calamari, but I've heard that its prawns and oysters that are bad, and shell fish in general. If calamari is cooked well, I am sure it would be ok? Hmmm Not sure though, I would see what everyone else thinks?

I ate prawns during my pregnancy - mainly at Christmas. I didn't worry too much as I'm not a regular fish/seafood eater. I'm sure calamari would br fine especially seeing as its cooked... damn you have me hungry now lol!

You girls have made me so jealous! The most adventurous I get with food is toast or a salad my m/s is still around.
I wish I could eat some calamari

I've eaten calamari...it's more the high mercury seafood that you need to be mindful of.

With all of my pregnancies, especially number 4 I ate calamari and prawns.
I was told by midwife a couple of weeks ago seafood is ok as long as it is cooked properly.
    Enjoy your night out
