Up 10 kg at 24 weeks!

    Hi girls,

I am nearly 24 weeks pregnant with no. 2 baby. With my 1st pregnancy I put on 23 kilograms all up so I was determined from the start of this pregnancy not to put on as much. I have been exercising 4 -5 times a week (either on my treadmill or at the gym), as well as running after my 2 year old daughter. I eat pretty healthy (most of the time) but I have still put on 10 kilogrms already.

I have friends who are pregnant too and they haven't put on that much weight. I have shown really early in both of my pregnancies so people always think I am further along than I am. I suppose evveryone is different......what are your experiences?

I am just over 24 weeks and last pregnancy I had put on 13kgs. When I found out I was PG till now I have lost 7kg's and only just put back on 600gm!! Lol.

I would of been close to 10kg heavier around 24 weeks and I put on 20kg all up.
It came off pretty quick though.
I think it's perfectly normal and nothing to worry about

Sounds normal to me. I agree with you, I just think every woman is different.

I've been really lucky and (without trying at all) I have only put on 4.5kgs and I'm almost 28 weeks. My sister though, who is shorter than me but very similar in size, put on 20kgs (total) with her first and 17kgs with her second. I was certain I'd be similar to her!

PS: my sister lost the weight easily both times and looks incredible now - one hot mamma that's for sure!

    Hi Firstbub
Weight gain in pregnancy can vary a lot from one woman to another. Some women put lots of weight on in early pregnancy whilst others put on the majority of weight later in their pregnancy. Your weight gain does not sound excessive. Try not to compare yourself with other pregnant women as everyone is different.

I varied so much with my 4 pg's - I put on 24, 27, 20 and 15 and I did the same amount of exercise and ate the same for all of them. You may not put on all that much for the rest of your pg either.
