I am currently expecting bub #3 and have been told that subsequent labours get quicker, from my experince this was the case for me - my first labour was 21hrs and my second was 1hr 44mins. I know this is not to say this birth will be as quick my last ...i guess i will just have to wait and see.
Would be great to hear how long your labours were and if they did get quicker each time . I'm starting to think i might have to camp at the hospital a week before hand, lol.
Hmmm, i think i am just going to have to wait and see .. .who know's what will happen, i might end up having to have a c/s early anyway if some of the issues i have get worse.
Well...I'm slightly out of the ordinary...
DD1 - 18.5 hours
DD2 - 30 hours (she was posterior & had to turn, which she did during labour. I think thats what slowed it down)
DS - 5 hours
My mum was 18 hours, 9 hours & 2.5 hours It is more common I think, to get quicker, but it doesn't always happen.
Yep I was 9 hrs with my first, then 4 hrs with my second - I did have to call the ambo with #2 as I had no pre-labour at all and was a bit in denial about properly being in labour! Lol
Wow i am really starting to think camping at the hospital a week before hand isnt sounding so silly .... have to see if there is a nice shady spot to pitch my tent when im there tomorrow
You might not have to camp though - if I have another I will just have someone camp with me.
And do you have any ambulance dispatch places near you? With my second an ambulance was called and I think they took about 10min, so it might depend on where you live and how busy the day/night is.
Yeah, mine did too. First was 8 hours, second was 3 hours. But if it's any consolation, my friend had a 3 hour labour for both her 2nd and 3rd, so it might not get quicker this time around.
