Like the TWW all over again

I had my first u/s on Friday and was told that my bub is only measuring at 6 weeks (0.33cm crl) when according to my O date I should be 7 weeks. My OB basically told me to prepare for a miscarriage.
There was a heartbeat, but I wasn't told how fast.
    I have another u/s in 2 weeks...
How do I stop myself from going crazy between now and then.
I have no other signs that anything is wrong.
Has anyone else had bub measure a week behind and still had a succesful outcome??
    Looking for some hope.
    Cindy.

Hi Cindy, I'm so sorry you have this worry hanging over you now, it must be awful. I'm pretty sure I've had ultrasounds that showed measurements about a week behind, but I think these were at 10 and 12 weeks (in two different pregnancies - one successful, and my current pregnancy which is now at 14 weeks). In my case the scans simply resulted in my being given new delivery dates and there was no suggestion of any problem. It's entirely possible that you O'd a week later than you thought, so maybe your ob has some other reason for suggesting you prepare for a miscarriage? Why don't you give him/her a call for some clarification. Best of luck to you.

I wouldn't worry about it yet. I've heard of that happening and nothing being wrong. Think positive thoughts until you get your next scan. Have you had any beta hcg levels done yet? That's what I'd be doing in the mean time to check that the HCG is still going up. Warning: waiting for BT's can do your head in too so you may not want to do that.

    Thanks for the replies ladies.
Unfortunately I know exactly when I ovulated because it was a clomid cycle and I was temping as well as taking opk's. I think that is why my OB is concerned. He did say to keep my fingers crossed and that things may turn out to be ok...but the overwhelming feeling was one of "I don't think this pregnancy is viable".
I guess all I can do now is wait it out. I did take another preg test today and the line was extremely dark and I'm starting to have sore bb's. I'm not giving up yet. Every time I go to the toilet I'm scared I'm gonna see blood...but none so far. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

    Hi Cindy,

's to you, its not fair having to worry about this stuff when you just want to be so so happy, sorry that your having to go through it. Try not to worry too much...hard i know.

    Here's my little story...
When i conceived with DS i too knew when i ovulated and it could have been one of three days so when i had my first scan @ 8wks and the sonographer said that my bubba measured at 6wks i was worried too, my dr also knew when i ovulated and we kept the dates the same. DS measured smaller that dates until i had my 22 week scan and he was the "right" size. He was born on his due date and is a perfectly healthy little bubba.

Try to think positive, keep smiling and take care of yourself while your waiting

ETA: I didnt stop worrying about seeing blood till after DS was born!!!

Thank you so much for sharing your story tears_of_joy, and congratulations on your beautiful little boy. You have given me some hope...I am trying my best just to think of this pregnancy as normal and have even been talking to my little one encouraging him/her to grow. Hopefully my outcome is as fantastic as yours.

If you ovulate on a set day will that egg be fertilised straight away? or is it possible for it to be fetilised a few days later?

big to you I wish you all the sticky dust I can find
