    Dolichocephaly

    Hi!
I've just been for my 18-20wk ultrasound, and then to the drs, and have been told that baby has slight dolichocephaly. It means baby has a long head. I'm not sure whether they mean long from front to back or long from top to chin iykwim. Other than this (and the placenta being posterior and low) baby is completely healthy and normal.

Have any of your babies had this? Do you know someone who has it or babies who have it? I'm freaking out, and getting a 2nd opinion on Tuesday (followed then by a midwife appt at the hosp).

Is it something I should be freaking out about?

Also, I'm 19wk 4d pregnant from LMP (regardless of what my ticker says, it doesn't seem to update daily), but baby is measuring 19wk 0d.

Sorry, I dont know anything about dolichocephaly but I'm sure there will be people here that can help you.

Just wanted to let you know that scans are notoriously inaccurate like that. I measured about 6 days out on my scans at would gain or lose afew days here and there. Try not to stress out about it

A quick Google tells me it's a long head front to back and it's not something to worry about. But as I said, it was quite a quick search... Hope everything's alright

One of my cousins twins had this. He had a narrow long head, (front to back) nothing abnormal-looking though, and at 18mths old, now I'd forgotten all about it.

Just remember we are all different, your bubs is healthy and thats what matters.
