    Lumps and bumps

I've had a lump on my back for a few years. Early in the pregnancy it grew til it was maybe four times the original size. I asked the obst to look at it and he said it was just a mole and it was normal for these things to grow during pregnancy.
Then I noticed a similar but smaller lump on my thigh, which came from nowhere.
But the other day the one on my back was a bit itchy. I scratched it and the top came off! (Sorry, quite gross). The top came off the one on my thigh too.
I'm due to see the obst again in about three weeks but I'm worried that because he's French he may not actually be able to identify a skin cancery thing.
I'll be back in Australia in four weeks and can see a GP then. Does anyone think this is something urgent? I have freckles but I'm not really a moley person, if you know what I mean.
Neither lump is itchy anymore and they haven't grown since the early growth spurt several months ago.

Hmmm. No replies means no one has experienced this. Now I'm worried.

    Hi there,

I dont think there is many people on lol.

Could it be that it may have been a pimple?

How dark brown was the 2 of them?
I'd say get it checked out because you can never be to sure.

Fingers cross that its just like i pimpley little wart or something.

    Good luck

I'm not extremely moley but I do have some moles They all got darker during pg but didn't actually grow in size. Is the lump under the skin like a sebaceous cyst? Or more on the surface of the skin like a mole?

Is there another Dr you can see any sooner? I wouldn't be too confident in a French Ob knowing about skin problems either

Well, I don't think I've ever had a mole before this. It's not a pimple or a cyst. It's raised above the skin and it was dark brown before the top came off. Now it's the usual freckle-coloured brown and still a little raised. It didn't bleed when the top came off. I've never had anything like it before.
It's now only three weeks and a few days til I get home. I think I'm going to wait to see a GP, rather than paying US$50 here to see a doctor who may not really know much about skin cancer things. I'll get the obst to look at it again too and his nurse, just in case. (My insurance covers the obst visits but not regular GP appointments.)
    Thanks for your replies.

    Heya hun,

I am wondering if its possible you may have knocked them without noticing and caused like a small scab that would explain the itchiness ??? Just a theory.

I have accidently scratched the top off a few of my moles and I have noticed I have a few more that have popped up during this pregnancy. I asked my Ob about them and he just said to keep an eye on them.

I do know that as part of the hormone production that you can get some darkening and freckle/mole spots during pregnancy and its JUST hormone related. I have a few darkened spots on my nipples that I hadn't had before.

Get them checked when your back here in Aus and just keep an eye on them in the mean time.
