    Question GTT fasting

When they say 'You need to fast'.....what does that mean exactly and for how long before the test?

I have my 2 hour one tomorrow but was told no info other then to fast!

Last time i had to do a high carb diet 3 days before and jump through hoops (well maybe not but there was alot i had to do/not do).

    TIA

generally it is from 2200 hrs the night before test.

    You can however have water.

generally test started about 0800 or 0900 so as u dont go to long without food.

    good luck

I just had mine done yesterday, I asked what they meant by "fast" and they said don't eat anything for 10 hours before your appointment, and drink water ONLY if you absolutely MUST. Seems a cruel and unusual punishment asking a pregnant woman to fast.. lol... just rest and don't do much physical work before the appt and you should be ok to last..and eat a big dinner...

Good luck Kim. Your probably sitting there right now and already have one of the needles over and done with. Only 2 more to go. Hang in there. Make sure you come home and rest your bound to be a little light headed after not eating and having blood taken. Might be a good idea to put a dvd on and try and rest up.
When will you get your results?
