    Iron tablets

I had my 28wk blood tests last week - my iron levels have dropped from 120 to 114. The MW said this was to be expected, but if I was feeling tired to take an iron tablet 3x per week.

Anyone know what level of iron in the tablets is beneficial? the pg supplement that I have (but not taken since the end of the 1st trimester almost) has only 5mg of iron - is this enough?

id suggest taking liquid iron over the tablets as they are known to constipate!!

I'm unsure about the recommended level of iron to take, but I definitely agree with Olive - take the liquid supplements - they are much more effectively absorbed by your body. I got horrid constipation from just the iron in normal pregnancy supplements (tablets).
