    Morning sickness & accupuncture

Hey, has anyone tried acupuncture for morning sickness?
How often did you have it, did it work, and if so, how long for?

I had accupuncture for SPD & while I was there she did some needles for reflux. They worked for about a week?

You could also try seeing an osteo who specialises in cranial work, they should be about to relieve your nausea

I had accupuncture for my last pg as I had HG and was hospitalised with my twin first pg. Although i got m/s still, it definately wasnt as bad and the accupuncture made a big difference and eased the symptoms after a session for around 1 week. Try motion sickness bands too!! They work on your pressure points in your wrists.

I tried it once with my first pregnancy but it made the m/s worse. I threw up twice during the (fairly short) session. I thought about trying again with my second pregnancy but before I'd organised I was starting to feel better.

    Re: Morning sickness & accupuncture

I had no ms the first pg. This time around i was really ill and had acupuncture once a week which relieved the symptoms (but didn't entirely take them away)

She had been helping me for the 12 month prior with fertility acupuncture and I think finding someone that specialises in fertility/ pregnancy acupuncture may be helpful.

I hope you feel better soon.

Acupuncture was the best thing for my HG. I vomited constantly and it helped take my symptoms away. I was going every 3 days to weekly and it was a great help.

    Re: Morning sickness & accupuncture

    Thanks all for the replies.

With DD1 I had morning sickness the whole way through. In hindsight it was probably HG - but being young and having no idea I just assumed it was regular morning sickness.

This time I have had it bad since 6 weeks and I am now 13 weeks and it's getting worse. Yesterday I threw up the entire day, everything I ate.

I have the anti nauseous wafers, and they work well, but if i take them daily they lose their effect & I really need them for work as my work doesn't know yet and my job isn't easy when you are sick and throwing up!

I have tried the wrist bands and they do nothing for me.
Also vitamin b6 has made me throw up more & everything ginger or peppermint hasn't helped either.

Just hoping to find some sort of relief because at the moment I'm not feeling a whole lot of joy

Here are the things I tried each worked well for a short period of time in order from week 6 til the 41!
Barley sugar constantly sucking on one the whole time I was awake
Milk - bizarre but true it worked for about a month
Choc chiller ice thing from Gloria jeans!
    Salt and vinegar chips
Chewing gum - the blue extra brand I chewed constantly
Then the last month nothing worked and I was on a drip when it got very bad.
Ginger didn't work but chewing gum was the most effective
Hugs it's awful and makes you give dirty looks to glowing mummas!

Oh you poor thing. It's a nightmare.

Have you tried restavit? I find it's the only drug that helps me. Be warned - it's a sleeping tablet so be careful about driving etc.

Other thing that has really helped is seeing a kinesiologist/chiropractor. Perhaps find one who treats a lot of women & children?
