I was wondering how to find a mothers group or baby clinic for my sister who lives in Perth SOR. Jack was 3 weeks old last Thursday, and Kristy's not doing so well, feeling depressed and bored and frustrated
I don't think she has PND, but I would like to help her make friends with other mums - any suggestions more than helpful!
Try checking out the Health Dept website here. They list all the metro child health centres and your local one should be able to put you in touch with a local mothers group.
also, if you go onto the playgroup website, it will give you the list of the playgroups in the area.
If you wanted, you could give her the link to this site to, and she could meet up with some of us.
Did your sister have a homevisit from a CHN after bubby was born? (at around 2 weeks or so?). Often at that visit, the local CHN will speak briefly about mum's groups, which are started by the centre. They organise it and it usually runs for a few weeks then after that, it's up to the mums to follow up with each other and keep it going. All the bubs are usually born very close together (like a month or so) so it's a great way to help each other out. I think ours began when my DD was about 8 weeks old.
Hope she can find some good support from somewhere, really can make big difference sometimes.
