Being winded in pregnancy....im in so much pain...

Cutting my birthday cake last night, and i suddenly felt a twinge in my upper back....couldnt move, couldnt cut the cake, begging my DH to walk me to the lounge where i could sit down. I had the worst night sleep, shortness of breath, feeling like i cant get my lungs full.....ive had the 'winded' feeling before - years ago when i was in the UK - so not pregnant by any means.
Ive been ordered to stay on lounge all day....i cant even walk. Why is his happening to me? Anyone else experienced this??

Im seeing my midwife on Tues...but dont know how im going to last that long.

Im in sooo much pain........someone ???

no answers but COMPLETE sympathy for you hun - i seem to have the exact same thing - absolutely shocking pain between my shoulder blades, hurts to take a deep breath, hiccuping or burping makes me feel like i've broken a rib - and it's been ongoing for over a week now! spoke to GP on Tues this week, and because i had signs of a UTI, she thought it may be related - but i'm now almost done with a week of UTI ab's, and it's still hurting like all hell so i'm going to Ob on Tues and begging for answers. i spoke to chiro on Thurs as well - and there is nothing out in my back at all so i think i've covered everything i could do...

some things i've found help - i have to swap between sitting up and reclining very regularly - don't want baby going posterior! ummmm, heat pack on your back - the best way i've found with this is to lay on the heat pack. use panadol (panadeine, mersyndol day, panadeine forte) depending on what works for you

as hard as it is - don't pick up your other kids - get them to climb up to you for cuddles. rest as much as possible - and, like me, pray that bub decides to arrive early and healthy!!!

it was suggested by a member last night that, with Gremlin being head down bum up, it's possible she has a foot caught on my rib or something and that is why the pain is so intense and gets so much worse when i hiccup or anything. not sure what it is but damn it hurts! i've been in tears at least once a day from it for over a week now, and probably up to half a dozen times some days - it's just incredibly, overwhelmingly painful!

huge gentle hugs and heaps of sympathy babe - wish there was a solution for you (for us both really!)

Thanks BG....we can suffer together then huh?

Its literally like the wind has been knocked outta me......i had shocking heartburn yesterday, and i guess a little stressed, busy etc with life, so i dont think i was taking full deep breaths yesterday, and towards the end of the day it just got too much.

DH taken the girls to a fair. Im going to get in the bath...i dunno how im going to get out, but i just feel like a bath....

I dont think bubs will be far away for me, even though ive still got 4 weeks to go. Do you feel gremlin will be early ???

I have one massive problem too - with resting.....ive never been able to just sit/lie on the lounge....i need to do something. I literally feel like a 34 year old trapped in a 99year old body.....

Im sorry youve had it so long too....ive just hit the 12hr mark and im sooooo over crying about it.

don't get in the bath unless you KNOW DH will be there soon to help you out - if you feel you need heat, have a long hot shower. it's easier to get yourself out of the shower than to be trapped in the bath (i can't get up from the floor on my own anymore - the bath is much the same - the pain is just too much).

i'm hoping Gremlin will be here early (even if we need some encouragement from the Ob to get her here) - i'm really at the end of my tether with the pain factor (doesn't help that my pelvis is equally painful - and i still have MS too...).

i hate being so restricted and i think that is adding to the tears and frustration. i was a mess last night pain wise, went to lay on the bed for half an hour just to get relief - ended up stacking pillows behind me and folding four baskets of washing instead...

do you have any craft projects you can work on to keep your brain active but your body resting??

I love sewing....i do have some hand sewing i need to do. Maybe i should get that out...

I feel so useless....im a very active person.....i find it so frustrating, but i think the reason ive got this pain in the first place is coz i was doing too much. Anyway.

Soz to hear about the MS still.....i heard a woman say once that pregnancy goes for 4 weeks too long....its like the day ive hit 4 weeks to go ive come across pain/uncomfortablility....so im tending to agree with that statement ATM.

we had the same convo the other night! pregnancy is just a few weeks too long - you hit a certain point and the discomfort is just too much, so you feel like a misery guts the whole time.

i guess it's worth it in the end (but im gonna do all in my power to get that "end" here sooner rather than later...)
