Is it normal for symptoms to disappear??

Hi this is my 1st pregnancy after 3.5 years of trying so I know I am probably being super paranoid, but.... I just wanted to check whether it is 'normal' (if there is such a thing in pregnancy!) to lose your symptoms at the 9.5 - 10 week stage?.

My symptoms to date have been pretty mild but i have noticed they have stopped in the past week or so. I saw the baby's heartbeat at 8.5 weeks u/s and all was good but cant help being worried now that there is no nausea & little tiredness! Also BB tenderness has stopped and they arent any bigger at all.

Like you said - whats normal in pregnancy!

Congratulations on getting your little bub after such a long time.

Some women dont even get sick, some are vomiting 24/7 and in hospt for IV fluids. Some women dont really notice any breast changes either, for some the pain in the boobs in the first weeks continues and for most it eases off towards the end of the first trimester. You may actually be one of the lucky ones who's sickness goes a couple of weeks earlier thats all!

I read some stats a while ago (in my first trimester) about misscariage rates and they said while 20-25% is often quoted. But for those that have a dating scan done around 8 weeks and see a heartbeat then the MC rate for that group is actually closer to 5%. Once you have seen a little flickering heart beat you are far less likely to have a loss as for that group the pregnancy and likely viability are already confirmed. Yay!

Its only a couple of weeks until your scan at 12 wks. But if that is too long to wait you could always call your care provider and tell them you are concerned. You wont be the first one to do that.

Enjoy a happy and healthy pregnancy!

It is normal for symptoms to disappear or come back again too. Mine were pretty standard I think - felt terrible for 6 weeks and around the 12/13 weeks mark they completely disappeared. I know girls who feel awful then feel fine then go back to feeling awful. Also once you hear a heartbeat there is such a SMALL chance of anything going wrong. Hope you feel better! BTW it's normal to feel worried when you have tried for sooo long.

I read somewhere that around the 9-10 week the baby's placenta starts to take control of the hormone production therefore decreases the mothers ms symptoms. I have found some symptoms have eased but others (like constant peeing) have increased.

Each pregnancy is different too so it maytake a different course this time for you or come and go as JordieC said.

If you are worried then make a GP appointment to ease your mind. Don't worry about feeling foolish there is nothing foolish about worrying about your baby.

Congratulations on your pregnancy wishing it be along happy and healthy one.

    Hi
My situation was very similar to you. We had been TTC for 4 years when I fell pregnant with my DS. I didn't even find out I was pregnant until 9 weeks (we ended up concieving naturally) because I had no symptoms at all and gave birth to a healthy baby at 39 weeks. I was also very paranoid because of how long it took us to concieve but like others have said all pregnancies are different. With my DD I was sick almost from the moment they did the transfer. If you are worried ring your doctor and have a chat. Mine was always very helpful when I had a concern.
Nae is also correct about the placenta taking over at the 10-12 week mark. Because my DD was IVF I stopped taking all the hormone medications at 12 weeks because that is when the placenta begins to support the baby, so that could be a reason the symptoms have lessened.
I hope this has been of some help and Congratulations on your pregnancy!!

Oh, this thread has made me feel so much better. I've been getting a little worried too. Apart from feeling very tired, I don't really have any symptoms at the moment. I'm seeing the OB tomorrow and I've been imagining getting all kinds of bad news.
