Not eating and worried + need advice

Ever since i got pregnant i haven't been able to eat more than 1 meal a day. And it's only a small meal at that. Food is unapeeling to me, just looking at it makes me feel full. When i do eat, i feel extremely full and nausous for the rest of the day until i go to sleep at night. I'm also extremely tried which i know is because im not eating because im not getting energy from it. I've lost about 6kgs since i first weighed myself at 5 weeks and not gained anything.

So i'm worried that because i'm not eating that the baby is not growing properly. I know fundus height doesn't mean much but it hasn't changed since i was about 15 weeks. And i''m worried i've done damage to the baby by not getting it enough nutriants because i can't even take vitamin tablets. The midwives at the hospital don't seem to care. They tell me to eat well but when i say i cant really eat anything they just shrug their shoulders and not say anything.

I have a scan in just over a week so i will feel better then if it tells me bub is well and healthy. But until then i'm just so worried.

Also, what can i do to give me more energy without eating? I don't do much during the day at all because if i go out of do something i'm almost asleep after only half an hour.

Can you stomach a smoothie? maybe wizz up a few yummy things into a smoothie & add some extra vitamines by adding something like Aktivite or sustigen to the mix?

I always, always lose weight till about 7 months on. I drank Sustagen in icy cold milk and sipped it.
I always get the worst reflux and it just put me off eating totally.

Im sure things will be ok

I was going to suggest like what FJ said, whip up a smoothie with your favourite fruits?

What about fruit salad with yoghurt?

I found it hard to eat much in the first trimester (like most others) and i found Boost Juice smoothes and fruit juices were quite popular for me! That way i was getting something in the form of an easy to drink mixture. Easy to stomach.

I also had and still do, drink a big glass of milk with "Aktavit" in it. It's like Sustagen. Nutrients & vitamins in it..... buy it at woolies/coles near the Milo. Have you tried that?
Your kids will probably like it too.

Hope you get your appetite back soon.... bubs will take what he/she wants first and you are left with hardly anything hence why you are so tired... im sure bubs is fine.

I was going to suggest Sustagen as well with fruit blended in etc.

I think part of why you are tired is because the baby is taking all the nutrients you do eat from you and not leaving you any at all! I'm sure everything will be ok.

You are doing such a great job. Being pg with two toddlers is pretty exhausting stuff.

Remember that your body extracts more nutrients than normal from food when you are pg, so your baby will be getting more than you think. Of course it is better for you if you can eat, but you certainly wouldn't be the first pg woman to lose weight, and it is very unlikely that the baby will have any problems a result. Baby will be getting first dibs on what you are eating. If you can, for yourself, at least try and make sure you are getting enough serves of calcium. The supplements are not the best form, as the calcium is not as easy to absorb, but are better than nothing if you really can't get calcium from any other source.

I really hope you feel better soon hun. Take care.

I think i lived on fresh air, yoghurt and dare espresso milk for a great part of my pg with Alister LOL. I just had no appetite either and only really ate when I got really hungry. And it certainly didn't affect his size either LMAO.

Just do the best you can with food and when you do eat make sure that it is wholesome and nutritious food as oppossed to junk. Don't forget too that babies are one of the most highly developed parasites known to man LOL - bubs will be taking everything it needs from you whether you eat or not, but you will start to suffer from it before the baby will.

For calcium i suppose i can try having a glass of milk morning and night but thats about it. Chesse and yogurt etc just make me feel ill. And i'll make up some smoothies, didn't even think of that. I love boost juice smoothies too.

If i can get over this tiredness maybe i won't feel so down and worried!
