Hey everyone just an ***UPDATE*** keep the prayers coming.
Cheryl just phoned me, she's still waiting for the results. The sonographer wouldn't tell her anything though she saw on the screen the Nuchal Fold measurement was 3.7. Though the baby has a nasal bone, which is a great sign. They have suggested they are going to scan on another machine as the original machine wasn't that good. She's still waiting in the room for that.
Thankyou so much everyone, it has been one very long day and an anxious wait.
We were there on time but werent seen until approx 12.20pm, the first sonographer measured bubs nuchal fold to be 3.7mm, but also bubs wasnt being very good and wouldnt move around for her. She ended up getting a DR to come in who also took measurements, the whole time all I could think of was, its not looking good, looks like another cvs. Anyway he didnt tell me what he got either as he wanted a second opinion from another DR. Well the first DR had a Nuchal fold of 1.9 and 2.1, the second Dr also got similar to the first but measured the Nuchal at 2.1 and 2.2mm. So that was such a relief, they mentioned to me that the first measurement was done at a wrong angle, as bubs was lying on its stomach not on its back. Also they needed to had the BT results adjusted as with the first u/s they measured bubs as being 5days behind, instead of the 31st December they measured as the 5th January, today they measured bubs as per my dates, due the 31st December.
So now for the results, I have a risk of 1 in 408. So was told that for my age group low risk. I was offered the choice of further testing but the chances of bub being perfect outweighs the risks of m/c through further testing, which they also believed was not needed.
I asked what the risk would have been with the 3.7mm and they said 1 in 8. So what a huge relief.
We didnt leave there until just before 3pm.
Ohhh they also mentioned that the cord is suspected of having 2 vessels not 3. So I am hoping all turns out with that, V also was only suspected of having 2.
Thanks again everyone, I feel so worn out after today, it was beginning to look bad there for a while but thankfully someone was watching over us today, and your prayers and thoughts helped as well.
Thanks again everyone, bubs was quite happy in its position so was just relaxing, even with all the pokes and prods, he/she just stayed in the same position. So not very accomodating at all. One of the reasons it took so long, they also wrote down that the ultrasound view was restricted by fetal movements. Bubs HB was 149bpm.
