    Opinions please :(

this morn i had a spot of blood, no pain.

went to emergency, they couldn't see much on ultrasound because it wasn't the proper machine, but they did see something that looked like a heartbeat.

I am supposed to be 10 wks according to my LMP

HCG is in the high 3000's

I'm not very hopeful, but has anyone else been in this situation and gone on to have a healthy pg??

i have another appointment on mon for more bloods and ultrasound.

Having bleeding in pregnancy is such a worrying thing I had bleeding at nearly 12 wks with my second pg and it was heavy enough to need a pad. I was so scared but at the same time confident that things would be OK because I had no pain. Coincidentally I had the NT scan the following week and it showed a perfectly healthy baby and there was a small dark spot on the placenta, which the Ob said could be where the bleed had come from. By the 20wk scan there was no dark spot on the placenta anymore.

Bleeding in pg can be old blood, breakthrough bleeding or even from sex. I'm sure that everything is fine. It is only a tiny amount. But make sure you take it easy between now and your next scan and don't overdo things

With DD I bled from 9-11 weeks, it was mostly older blood, with a few patches of red, it was determined that it was from my cervix.

This time it has been completely different..... and the reasons quite different and it took a couple of scans to get the full picture, the first being like yours in the ER of our WCH, where the OB said she thought she could see a HB, I think I saw her pick it up on the scan, but she couldn't confirm as she wasn't properly trained to use the US either. It was also an external US, where as I saw my OB two days later and she did an internal and found a HB.

I would request your next US to be an internal it will be a lot more accurate.

Bleeding in pregnancy is common and it can be terribly scary, no pain is good, and only a small amount is also good, as is the HB, I hope that it just means that you are not as far along as you thought. Big will be thinking of you for the next few days, I understand how hard this time can be xxoo

Best of luck at 10 weeks you HCG levels can already be dropping off so that is 'nt that helpful, main thing is not a lot of blood and no pain, are all good signs.
I have had bleeding in all of my pregnancies with good and bad results, it is extremely worrying I would suggest taking it very easy, no lifting, rest with legs elevated when possible and no sex, usually if you make it through the first trim you will be okay..the risk of MC drops off dramatically especially when a HB has been seen.
Good luck and take it easy.

Hi sirenz, firstly i just want to offer you a great big hug
Bleeding in pregnancy is such a stressful thing, i know exactly what you're going through right now

I bled at 16 weeks with DD, was similar to what you're explaining, small amount, with no pains. She is now 2 turning 22 Very happy, healthy girl!

I bled at 6, 9 12, and 15 weeks with DS, i was incredibly stressed about it, was small amounts each time, with no pain, and he is now a very chubby and healthy 4 month old With his pregnancy, they often tried to find him through the doppler, with no luck, to send me to an ultrasound, and then he'd say hello with a nice strong heartbeat.

So just letting you know that it does happen, and it DOES NOT mean your baby will not be born healthy and beautiful in so many months time The flicker that they think may have been the HB sounds very postive! Try and keep your chin up, don't let it eat away at you.. sending you big warm fuzzy sticky vibes, hehe, and wishing you a H&H pregnancy
    xx

I agree with everyone else and want to give you all the hugs in the world.

Get lots of rest, and stay positive, it is scary, but as others have indicated it can be quite common.
