    Pedicure?

My feet and toe nails are a disgrace - I just can't reach them any longer.

Is it safe to get a pedicure? It's quite a posh salon (ie clean and not stinking of fumes like some of the bigger chain ones) that I'll be going to but I just wondered if it's ok to get one at all during pregnancy.

    Your thoughts are appreciated.

certainly is Sue! I had several when I was PG - made my feet feel sooooo much better!!!! If you're worried about fumes, perhaps pick a place that isn't suffocating with fumes (there is a place near me that you can smell 10 foot away! BLERG). Enjoy!

Woohoo... go for it and enjoy every minute of it!! I had a pedi each week once my belly was too big to reach my toes! As far as I'm aware it's perfectly safe.

    Hey Hun,

Congratulations on the pregnancy firstly, answering your question im no professional but i got a manicure/pedicure whilst preg and even got waxed there is really no evidence of any true danger assosiated with getting one. i found the fumes made me feel a little ill, the lady that done mine said just try to make sure you are in a relatively open are with sufficient ventilations, and to try make sure you are not exposed to the fumes for a long period of time! i think it would be alot better going to a day spa so to speak.
Hopefully some of the other ladies can help you out a bit more.

I loved having a ped while preg and the thought of having something nice below the belly that people will see was good too...silly...but good

I had a couple when I was pregnant. But the last one I had was when I had alot of fluid around my ankles (kankles LOL) and legs, and when she was rubbing them it hurt soooo much I had to tell her to stop!
    Nails looked lovely though.

I had the pedicure saturday and it was BLISS!!

Foot massage, foot scrub and then polish..... it was lovely.

Would definitely recommend getting it to anyone who is thinking about it - and those of you who can't get to your feet!!

    Thanks for the reassurance everyone.
