    Physio while PG??

When i saw my OB around week 8 i told him my back was out of whack and asked if it was ok to go see my normal physio. He gasped and told me that "you're not out of alignment" and kinda sounded like he didn't believe in "physio" or something. So I've held out and I'm now 12 weeks and saw a locum OB yesterday and he said that it would be fine for me to go. I'm getting all sorts of side effects from my back and neck being so knotted up including pins & needles and weakness in my arms. I've had it before and physio has always fixed it for me.

I've booked in with physio and I asked if it was ok while i'm PG and they said yes no problems and that he would just be a little more gentle.

I'm sure there are others who have seen a physio while PG so just after a little reassurance. I've been so paranoid with this PG due to 2 x mc's and have held back doing alot because of it "just in case".

    Stories please.

    Physio while PG??

Absolutely safe. I see one regularly due to an ongoing injury. I continued to see him every 4 weeks during pregnancy.

Absolutely safe. I'm a physio, and while it is very important that the physio treating you knows you are pregnant, there are many, many techniques that s/he can choose from to treat your problems.

Your first ob may have scoffed at the term 'out of alignment', as this gets overused and misused by some health professionals and by the public. It would be a rare ob who would scoff at the idea of physio being useful for a musculoskeletal condition.,

I would never *not* see a physio during (and after!) pregnancy. For more than just your back.
